This year marks the 50th anniversary of Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) in Tasmania, a significant milestone celebrating five decades of dedicated service to the community.

To celebrate this occasion, an Open Day will be held on 11 October. Everyone is invited to join us, discover more about RDA, and participate in the day’s activities.

Event Programme
• 10-12 AM: Be inspired as our talented horse riders showcase their skills and share their achievements with the community
• 1 PM: Enjoy a special demonstration by the Light Horse Brigade, highlighting the history and tradition associated with these skilled riders

Activities and Entertainment
• BBQ Sausage Sizzle provided by the Lions Club of Glenorchy
• Face Painting for children and families
• Hobby Horse Races for some light-hearted fun
• Treasure Hunt for all ages
• Equine-themed Quiz to test your knowledge
• Raffle with great prizes to be won

Come along and join in the fun as we celebrate this momentous occasion together!

A big THANK YOU to Janine at HayFresco for donating one of her amazing HayFrescos for Cadbury to trial.

The HayFresco is designed and made in Tassie. They are an all weather slow hay feeder, and lets face it, in Tassie we get all weather ... in one day!

Bon Appetite Cadbury. 🍽

Big shout out to Cadbury from the local RDA for being a tester for HayFresco. And an equally loud shout out to all the other horses, staff and volunteers RDA for the amazing work they do ❤️

RDA Tasmania are seeking Expressions of Interest for Board Members who can demonstrate a capability to contribute to our organisation at a strategic level. This is a unique opportunity to help make a meaningful difference to children and adults with a disability.

We wish all our horse friends at RDA and right across the Southern Hemisphere - A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY! 🥳

In Australia all horses celebrate their birthday on 1 August regardless of their actual birth date. ❤️🐴💜

This standardised date is used for racing and competition purposes, and it sure makes it easy to remember everyone’s birthday. 😁

If you want to acknowledge your special horse friend today, you can offer them treats, spend quality time with them, or give them a special gift. 🎁🎈
