COMMUNITY SUPPORT

As we are close to wrapping up this incredible milestone year, our hearts are full. We want to send a massive THANK YOU to the local businesses, donors, and community partners who have supported RDA Tasmania over the last half-century.

Whether you donated hay, raised funds, provided professional services, or assisted in some other amazing way, your generosity has been the "horsepower" behind our programs for 50 years. 👏

We’d love to tag every single one of you, but the list is simply too long—which is a pretty amazing "problem" to have! 😊

Your generosity has kept our programs running and our horses happy, healthy, and in tip-top shape. We couldn't do it without our Tassie community. 🫶

Thank you for being part of our journey and helping us keep the hoofbeats going.
❤️🐴💜

PROGRAM BENEFITS:
Life Skills Through Riding

Beyond the physical benefits and learning to ride, our programs help develop:
👉 Problem-solving
👉 Self-advocacy
👉 Teamwork
👉 Responsibility
👉 Environmental awareness

Personal development and developing lifeskills ... who would have thought these could be outcomes from a horse riding program?

NOCTURNAL GUARDIANS

Deep in the heart of the Tasmanian wilderness, a rare and industrious species emerges. While most of the island settles into the quiet of the evening, a specialised group begins its vital work.

These are the Board Members of RDA Tasmania.

By day, they are camouflaged among the general population, many holding down full-time jobs in the modern world. But as the sun dips below the horizon, they undergo a remarkable transformation. Driven by a singular purpose, they gather—a dedicated "mob" in a digital pack—to ensure the survival of their herd.

Observe their unique rituals. With the keen eyesight of an eagle, they descend upon the landscape of governance:
• The Number Crunchers: Analyzing the complex flow of resources with mathematical precision.
• The Strategists: Mapping out the long-term migration paths for the organisation’s future.
• The Detail-Seekers: Diligently dotting every 'i' and crossing every 't' to maintain the integrity of the habitat of Policies and Procedures.

Without their tireless efforts, the delicate balance of RDA would not exist and the voice of RDA TAS, would not be heard beyond our little island shores within the walls of the National Office of RDA Australia.

We salute 🫡 these nocturnal guardians of the RDA Tasmania community.

BEHIND THE SCENES

There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes—feeding horses, poo pickup, grounds maintenance, caring for horses, fundraising, and so much more.

Here’s to the unsung heroes who keep everything running smoothly!

: Day 40

WEATHERING ALL SEASONS ...
.. and don't we have them all in one day on occasions in Tassie!
🌞⛅️🌦🌧🌩💨❄️

Come rain, shine, or even the occasional Tasmanian snow, our community shows up with spirit and determination.

Horses still need to be fed, and where possible, lessons are still run. Our Coaches plan for bad weather days, and even if riding is out of the question, unmounted activities can still go ahead.

Some of the unmounted activities on offer are:
• Barrel vaulting
• Practicing rein control and contact
• Learning about horse care
• Learning the parts of the horse, bridle and saddle
• Cleaning tack
• Unmounted games

It's all a part of our program — whether on a horse or on the ground. Everyone who braves the elements for the love of horses truly shows their dedication!
💜🐴❤️
