Our Story
I'm Monica, I was born in Romania, I lived in London for 15 years, where I also trained as a yoga teacher, and I moved to Melbourne in 2017, looking for a better quality of life for us and our 4 year old twin boys.
I have been fascinated by yoga and philosophy for as long as I can remember, to the bewilderment of my engineer parents, and I started practicing it consistently seven years ago. I turned to yoga knowing I was looking for something, but not knowing what that something was. What I found was a beautiful, powerful practice that helped me unwind and release tension and stress, that made me feel lighter and more at ease, that allowed me to explore the abilities of my body and mind and that gave me tons of energy when I had none left. It brought me so much joy that I spent my first yoga class laughing. It was instant love between me and the mat.
I roll my mat out and practice most days, knowing that a few minutes of practice can dramatically improve my day and my experience and this I what I want to achieve through my teaching, I want to empower people to find what works for them, to empower them to start this journey towards themselves, towards more balanced, more joyful, more vibrant selves.
I've practiced different styles of yoga, Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Iyengar, and my teaching combines elements of them all, but it is mainly based on my lessons on the mat, o focusing on moving slowly and with awareness, on breathing deeply and letting go, on improving flexibility, strength, balance, sleep and mood, on allowing us to flow with more ease in life. The energetics of the practice and the ways we can take yoga off the mat, allowing it to improve all levels of our lives are tremendously important and the focus of the classes I teach. If it doesn’t change your whole life for the better, if it doesn’t make you kinder, happier, more patient, more content, more understanding, more resilient, more peaceful, more alive, it is not yoga, this is how powerful this path is. Settle for nothing less! Find that teacher, that style, that class that can give you a glimpse of the reach of yoga, off the mat and into our lives.
