Santosha Yoga Australia

Santosha Yoga Australia Santosha Yoga Australia offers Gentle, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga classes in Kingston and Kettering. We help you slow down, find calmness and connect to your Self.

Santosha Yoga Australia (Santosha) is your sanctuary from the rush and pressure of everyday life. We help you find tranquility and peace-of-mind through the practice of yoga, breath work (pranayama) and meditation. We offer yoga to suit every body. It doesn't matter if you are fit or not, flexible or not, a beginner or experienced yoga student. Yoga can help you reduce stress, build strength and f

lexibility, and improve your overall wellbeing. We believe strongly in finding balance in life, and so we practice vinyasa or flow yoga (a stronger or more yang style of yoga) as well as yin yoga (a softer and more meditative style of yoga). Vinyasa is a dynamic flowing style of yoga that will help you build strength, improve your flexibility and connect with your breath. Yin is all about softening, releasing tension and finding stillness. What does Santosha mean? Santosha (pronounced san-toe-sha) is the Sanskrit word for contentment. It is our belief that the practice of contentment, gratitude and acceptance are the keys to finding happiness from within. These are our core values, and they underpin everything we do. Santosha was founded by Danielle Bendall. Danielle first started practicing yoga in 2003, because she wanted to find tools to help quieten her constantly busy mind. She quickly found that stepping onto her mat allowed her to calm down and find stillness in her mind – if only for brief moments! Over the years as her practice became more regular Danielle noticed the additional strength, flexibility, energy and overall vitality that yoga provided. Danielle undertook her 200 hour teaching qualification with Power Living Australia Yoga, under the guidance of Duncan Peak. She has gone on to learn from many great local and international teachers including Jennifer Crescenzo, Sarah Powers, Simon Park, Leslie Kaminoff, Maty Ezraty and Donna Farhi. Her classes are authentic, open and personal. Danielle will help guide you to quieten the mind, tune in to the inner world, and bring the body, breath and mind into greater harmony.

I'm taking a break from social media.

I know I'm not alone as a small business owner with a love/hate relationship with social media.

At its best, it's a great tool for connecting with my community and perhaps for new people to find me.

At its worst, it robs me of my presence, sends me down toxic rabbit holes and affects my mental and emotional health.

So it's time for a little digital detox.

If you are already part of my In Real Life community, you will find me where you always do: on the mat in the usual places.

You will also find me on Insight Timer, YouTube and Zoom, or if you want to get in touch, the best place is via email or a message through the website.

Stay sane, people. See you on the flip side.

Many people walk out of a yoga class feeling like they don’t belong, whether due to injury, limited mobility, or simply the assumptions built into traditional alignment.

Some will walk away forever, thinking that yoga is not for them.

Others, like me, will stick around, but with a sense of inadequacy and frustration because they can't make certain shapes with their bodies.

I will be forever grateful for the anatomy training I took with Paul Grilley, one of the Yin Yoga masters, where I not only gained a profound understanding of my own body, but where I first learned how to adapt yoga asana for bodies of all different shapes, size and range of movement.

These photos were taken at that training back in 2017, and I have since spent that time observing, evolving and refining my skills as a teacher to adapt yoga asana - yin and yang - for all bodies.

I am now sharing what I've learned in my own 25 hour Yoga Teacher Training: Adaptive Yoga.

This training is about transforming the way we teach yoga—about truly seeing and supporting the students who don’t fit the typical yoga mould.

So if you are a yoga teacher passionate about making yoga more accessible and inclusive, this training will give you the tools and confidence to adapt in the moment, ensuring every student feels seen, welcomed, and empowered.

Just one month till we kick off: will you join us?

Early Bird ends TOMORROW!

Yoga teachers: are you here:
- Parroting alignment cues you learned in your teacher training
- Offering generic modifications you’ve memorized?

But wanting to be here:
- Confidently adapting yoga asana to the person in front of you
- Leaving your students feeling seen and empowered?

Then join our 25 hour Adaptive Yoga teacher training weekend.
Learn how to deconstruct poses, read bodies and empower students so that they keep coming back for more.

I’m so incredibly grateful to the humans who make up the Santosha Yoga community.

Not just those of you who attend classes currently but everyone who has been through our doors at any time in the last 9 years.

In a time when small businesses are closing everywhere, I am so appreciative to be celebrating 9 years in business.

I’m also thankful for everyone who has ever supported me to do what I love, from business coaches and mentors; fellow yoga teachers and small business buddies; and my partner, family and friends.

Thank you. ❤️

Early bird pricing ends next week (May 16) for the 25 hour Adaptive Yoga Teacher Training program.

This is for teachers who are passionate about making yoga more available to more people, especially those who don't fit the typical mould or stereotype.

You will:
increase your knowledge of anatomy,
learn to deconstruct poses to assess range of movement,
be able to offer adaptations to the student in front of you,
and will uncover your own teaching blind spots.

✨"This is one of those trainings that should be compulsory as a Yoga Teacher. This gives you detailed knowledge to see every student in a class as an individual that you can confidently support with their unique body movement (not a one-size fits all). This type of training takes you from being a Regular Yoga Teacher - to a Skilled Yoga Teacher. Dani leads this with passion, a huge depth of knowledge, and a supportive facilitation style- it is a pleasure to learn from her." Bianca Wooldridge - Yoga and Health Coaching, Hobart ✨

I’ve never been involved in politics before.

And I don’t normally share political content on my business page.

But I feel like this election is particularly important: democracy feels at stake.

I believe that there is another alternative to the old model of two huge parties funded by vested interests.

I believe that a mixed and varied cross bench of independents is important for representing us as citizens.

This year I volunteered for our local independent, by handing out preference cards.

(Incidentally, beyond asking voters to put him number one, he doesn’t tell you how to preference your votes and certainly neither will I).

Regardless of who you vote for, I urge you to use the power of your vote effectively. Don’t waste the democratic rights that are the envy of many other countries.
