Feeling better this week as I get back into school and a new way of eating. My friend Jo posted this and it really spoke to me.
I’ve printed it out. 🥰

Maybe speaking kindly to my obese body will help me see success. Question, how do I see past the vast amounts of flab to speak nicely about them? Still not getting any smaller.

Had a rough couple of days and I’m finding health motivation quite low. This happens when Im in shutdown mode due to feeling overwhelmed. Oh the joys of living with mental health issues. I just have to ride the wave. Still showing up but finding everything so much harder. Tomorrow is a new day and thank god I’m meeting up with friends as that holds me accountable. Living moment by moment 🥰

It’s been a tough week when it comes to my goals but I am not giving up. The hardest thing about trying to achieve goals is not seeing results. This week, instead of the scales going down, they went WAY up and my run slowed down. This has set me back but does not have to derail me. So, after listening to The Mel Robbins Podcast I have decided to get a little more tight with my goals and get a bit more serious. She gives us 6 steps to acheiving goals and I like the model. So I am going to give it a try.
Check out the Infographic I made 🙂 .

Anyone know the formula for losing weight?

Since step two is writing it down, I’m writing my goals down here.
1. I will run 28:30 by my 250th parkrun in around July.
2. I will be 85kg by July

Anyone else game to share their goals. Let’s do this 💪.

As part of being great I love getting out in nature. I not only exercise my mind and my body but I exercise my heart ❤️. It gets stronger when I do things that I love.
Today I went Heart Hunting and look at all the hearts I found. Definitely feeling stronger tonight!

Confession; I have had a bit of a crush on McFlurries but I can’t have them anymore 🫤. But now, thanks to Lynna I have a replacement. Protein Yoghurt berry seedy bliss mix. It’s so nourishing and I don’t want my old friend anymore 🤤.

Now this is me being great! Super proud of myself and a brilliant way to start off the new year! Go me!

❓What inspired you to start at the gym? ❓

Gyms are always a part of my life and have been for 30 years. I moved here in 2022 and found Anytime after a friend recommended it. Going to the gym is vital for my wellbeing and I love connecting with others through classes and workouts. Lynna gave me a great push in the right direction once I joined to support me and I'll be forever grateful for her support.

❓How has your journey in the gym impacted the rest of your life? ❓

I go to the gym as it gives me routine and structure to help my mental and physical health. The connections I've made through the gym are brilliant and now we do other fun things outside the gym like Parkrun, kayaking and hiking. I've made amazing friends through my time at the gym and they encourage and support me everyday.

❓What have been the best achievements of 2024? ❓

Showing up many days every week even when I felt like I couldn't was my biggest win.
Overcoming my mental health challenges through my exercise routine and making great gym buddies comes second.
Finally, through great encouragement and support I then did the Point to Pinnacle 21k and then the Three capes walk; two things I would not have seen myself doing if I looked at me back in April. I'm a much better version of myself these days.

❓What's you new year goal? ❓
I need to reside in a lighter body for health reasons so my focus will be on lightening my load a bit. I'm going to do that through good nutrition and having lots of mini goals. For instance, I plan on running/shuffling 10k in March (much easier if I'm lighter)and reaching my milestone of 250 parkruns in July by running the fastest parkrun I've ever done under 29 minutes.

What a day to be great! I felt truly inspired by a magical morning out on the water with my goer of a heart friend Kirsten. We paddled and cherished every precious moment. So grateful and my heart is full. ❤️🛶🙏

Movement is powerful

Learning to realign thoughts and emotions via the body is what I am about. Getting our head back into our body. Through movement, breath and yoga you can find a better existence and I want to help you get there ;). I am a teacher and yogi with over 20 years experience in the fitness and health industry. I have a lot to share about sobriety, mental issues, weight management and mindset and I am constantly learning.
