Facebook says it has been 399 days since we posted here. Out of social media we have been taking the time to reflect on how we can best support and inspire others. And this was what we did:
1- Improve our own physical and mental health:
We did a 9 day walk over the overland track to disconnect and reconnect and we exercise regularly.
2- Improve our équipement: we have invested on a total body photography scanner to detect melanoma, using AI.
3- Improve our mind to the service of others: Andrew continue on going education.
Frederique has just completed a certification in coaching SuperVision to support her peers to build their capacity to reflect on their practice, increase their confidence and avoid burn-out. She is now submitting recordings and hope soon to celebrate her MCC ( masters certified coach).
3- Continue to create a happiness centred practice: Sarah and Olivia have join Teena to welcome you. We could not pursue all our studies and passion to serve without the support of this awesome team.
4- The practice is close for the last week of the financial year, while we recharge our batteries in a wellness boot camp. We look forward to learn more pearl of wisdoms to enhance the health and wellness of others as well as ours.

Thank you for the support you are bringing to our business for the last 27 years. We are looking forward to serve for many more years.

Great article about how we create more stability in our emotional lives. Being more purposeful in our day and a fluid sense of self create more sense of satisfaction and inner peace, more stable happiness. Being less self-centered seems to stabilise happiness.

New studies are investigating why life is such an emotional rollercoaster for certain people, and how to cultivate more stable happiness.

Interesting article!
During the Covid period so many of us have enrolled on more courses, more certifications, volunteered to support more people, and have ended up experiencing burnout.
In my personal experience, I( Frederique)have found exercise to be the faster way to recover.

This article explains how "sticking to your exercise program can help you reap mental health benefits long term".

Exercise is a useful treatment option for people suffering from mild to moderate major depressive disorder. Here we consider the science why this is the case.

Anxiety and the anatomy of the body:
“ reframing anxiety as something concrete and malleable—and (most importantly) normal.”

The research connecting anxiety, sleep, diet, exercise and inflammation is just emerging.

Anxiety can also indicate that we are not honouring our values. That is when coaching can also help.

“What is my anxiety telling me?” Vora writes. “Anxiety is not what’s wrong with you—it is your mind and body fiercely alerting you to the fact that something else is wrong.” is reframing anxiety as something concrete and malleable—and (most importantly) normal.

Diet, sleep, and inflammation can all contribute to anxiety—but taking care of your body could help alleviate some of it.

Great article:
“In addressing stigma, the missing piece isn’t knowledge—it’s contact, empathy, and humanization.”
I am inspired by the younger generations who are more understanding and open their heart.

Shame and shunning make mental illness worse. But new studies suggest that attitudes are changing for the better—and that’s largely due to young people.

Complain, but don't blame. Describe, but don't Judge. Start statement with "I" instead of "you"... and remain happily ever after.

Softening the start-up of your arguments and complaints is crucial to resolving relationship conflicts.

This quote so aligns with our values and beliefs: " Wellness is not a 'medical fix' but a way of living - a lifestyle sensitive and responsive to all the dimensions of body, mind, and spirit, an approach to life we each design to achieve our highest potential for well-being now and forever."

We believe you are naturally creative, resourceful and whole.

Our purpose is to help you deepen your awareness so you can forward the action, with compassion and love.

At Last! We are not renegades, after all.

From the Australian Society of Lifestyle Medicine:

"Recently, the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZCP) issued new guidelines for the treatment of mood disorders, in which lifestyle interventions are now first-line treatment along with psychological interventions.

Lifestyle changes and psychological interventions are foundational in the treatment of mood disorders. These are both recommended actions – essentially non-negotiable and to be discussed with all patients. Lifestyle changes include smoking cessation, limiting alcohol and substance misuse, instituting exercise, sleep hygiene and a healthy diet.

Lifestyle Psychiatry describes the growing research evidence of the efficacy of physical exercise, diet, sleep and mind-body practices and their role in preventing and managing mental health conditions, as a stand-alone approach or in addition to other treatments. Lifestyle psychiatry is described as part of a larger lifestyle medicine movement."

This is why twenty-five years ago, we started our own practice. Dr Andrew Morris is a Board Certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician (IBLM) and a Fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine. Frederique Morris is a Professional Certified Mindset, Mental Fitness and Positive Intelligence Coach.

I love how simple, quick and healthy this recipe is! I use this most of the days where we have leftover brown rice. I am not a fan of Tempeh so I just use organic tofu instead.
Most evenings, I, Frederique, finish coaching on zoom, just in time for Andrew to come home. As the day are getting longer, we have time to go for a walk up and around Red Hill with our Labrador Sam and within no time our diner is ready when we return.
Feel free to share your favourite vegetarian nutritional easy recipes with us.

Three years ago we were told this tree was dying. But we didn’t give up, and neither did the tree! On this first day of spring, this tree is in full resonance. Soon the flowers will fall and the leaves will emerge and nature will continue creating its miracle.

As we assume our clients are naturally creative resourceful and whole, we become curious and open to possibilities on their behalf. And when the mountain they climbing is too high, we remind them of who they really are. We remind them of their light.

We ask:
What wants more attention?
What are you longing for?
What is important to you?

We support them:
Envision a compelling future;
Explore and investigate their uniques values;
Identify when those key values are compromised or neglected;
Connect more deeply with their life purpose;
Discover their powerful inner resources;
Identify the limited narratives in their head and manage those saboteur voices;
Gain more energy;
Establish a clear vision for their fulfilling life.

In a nutshell, we support them to make life-affirming choices that lead them to the fullest expression of their life’s purpose and values in every aspect of their life. And along the way, they experience fulfilment, joy and aliveness.

We are all creators and whole.

Not everyone will struggle with their mental health during COVID-related lockdowns. But many of us will experience lockdowns distressing or even traumatic, according to this psychotherapist and trauma expert.

When we want more choices in our lives, to deepen our learning, and to connect to our creativity, we have a conversation with our coach, and we immerse ourselves in the Art of possibilities. What we miss the most during lockdown is being able to wander through the National Portrait Gallery and National Gallery of Australia, Canberra. Looking at how artists see the world opens our minds to different perspectives and helps us connect to our most resonant choices. We feel more alive.
What is your current perspective about choice?
What would open up for you, if you could look at it differently?
