🌿Expression of Interest, 1x Casual Playworker Position & Casual Relief Playworker Positions🌿
Starting: Jan 5th onwards
Neighbourhood Backyard – Loose Parts Play Space, Yarrabilba
We are seeking expressions of interest from community members who would love to support children’s play in our loose parts play space at Neighbourhood Backyard.
This is for both a regular Playworker as well as casual relief work.
Mondays & Tuesdays, 3:30pm–5:30pm, with further opportunities available at both of our sites in future.
Why Child-Led Play Matters:
Child-led play empowers children to explore, create, take healthy risks and learn through real experiences. It builds confidence, resilience, problem-solving skills and social connection in a way structured learning cannot replace.
Duties include:
Supporting safe, self-directed, child-led play
Setting up and packing away loose parts and play environments
Engaging positively with children and families
Observing play without directing or controlling it
Maintaining a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all participants
Requirements:
Current Working With Children Check (Blue Card) – essential
Passion for play, community and children’s wellbeing
Reliability and positive communication
First-aid certificate or willingness to obtain
