Sharleen has been an accredited clinical audiologist since 2007, holding degrees in both a Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Sciences and Master’s in Clinical Audiology from Macquarie University – where she was also awarded the Cochlear prize for adult aural rehabilitation🦻

Sharleen is incredibly passionate for assisting not only adults but also children with their audiology concerns or queries✨ This is showcased through Sharleen being a full member of Audiology Australia, with a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and Medicare provider number🌼 She also has full accreditation to provide Government subsidized services to Pensioners and Veterans; as well as SIRA for Workers Compensation.

On Wednesday, Emma had the pleasure of visiting Speak About Speech Pathology in Richmond. She spent time connecting with their incredible speech pathologists and discussing the important role hearing plays in a child’s speech, language, and overall development.

Collaborations like this help both of our clinics deepen our understanding of speech and hearing, so we can work together to support the best possible outcomes for our patients. 💛

🐷 The special episode also features George's audiologist, Jodie Ounsley, a British rugby player who also uses a Cochlear Implant herself. This brings real-life experiences to international television, raising more awareness about hearing loss and the importance of love and support🐷

This amazing partnership with the UK's National Deaf Children's Society suppresses stigmas about hearing loss and encourages more people to celebrate differences, whilst promoting inclusion with all🫂 🌏

World Hearing Day is recognised globally to raise awareness about preventing hearing loss and promoting hearing care for people of all ages✨

This year’s theme, “𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀: 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻,” highlights the vital role schools play in educating both children and adults about ear and hearing health.

Classrooms are a key entry point for building awareness across communities📔 🍎

According to the World Health Organization, around 90 million children aged 5–19 years are living with hearing loss worldwide. By integrating hearing-care strategies into education programs and helping teachers and parents recognise early signs and symptoms, hearing loss can be identified — and potentially prevented — at an earlier stage🫂
