Coffee - love hate relationship 😩 I’m writing this post riding the high of a coffee rush—thoughts flowing faster than ever, and I’d love to share a caffeinated reflection with you.
Here’s the truth: I quit coffee (again) before starting my 30-day mindset reset. It’s been 3 weeks without it, but today, before hitting the gym, I treated myself to a cup. That first sip was pure joy. The workout? Incredible. I smashed it, full of energy, motivation, and confidence.
But then I noticed something else—something I’ve felt before.
Yes, coffee gives me drive and focus, but it also stirs up subtle chaos:
- Racing thoughts, jumping from one idea to the next.
- A mix of excitement and underlying anxiety.
- A tightness in my throat and chest, tingling in my solar plexus.
As someone deeply connected to my body, I couldn’t ignore how it felt:
Moments later, I found myself getting frustrated during a conversation with my partner—snapping, wanting to be heard, needing to be right.
Coffee has this dual power over me:
- I love the rush, the creativity, the productivity, and the gym performance.
- I hate the racing thoughts, the anxious undercurrent, and the feeling of never having enough time.
Life without coffee? It’s slower, quieter, more spacious.
But here’s what I’m curious about:
So many of us say, “Coffee doesn’t affect me.” But how do you know if you’ve never taken a break? When was the last time you stopped drinking coffee long enough to notice its impact?
Here’s my invitation:
Take a week (or even a few days) off. See what changes. How do you feel without the buzz? The space it creates might surprise you.
What’s your relationship with coffee? Have you ever experimented with stepping away?
