Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) can occur without warning sometimes overnight, sometimes in a moment.
It may present as:
• A sudden drop in hearing in one ear
• A blocked or “full” sensation
• Tinnitus
• Difficulty understanding speech
And it’s often mistaken for something simple like ear wax or congestion.
But this is different.
SSNHL is a medical emergency.
Early intervention can make a significant difference to outcomes.
For clinicians, it’s a reminder to act quickly.
For patients, it’s a reminder not to wait.
Because when it comes to sudden hearing loss, time matters.
