You are young, you are strong but you still have little niggles.

Training hard but feeling it under your shoulder blades?
It’s one of the most common issues we’re seeing — especially in younger gym-goers.

A simple tweak like unilateral training can make a huge difference… but knowing why it’s happening is the key.

Stuck Indoors? Here’s How to Stay Active Without Overthinking It
You Don’t Need a Gym… You Just Need a Plan

When the weather turns, routines fall apart.
The early morning walk disappears.
The after-work activity fades.
And suddenly… you’re doing a whole lot less.
It happens quickly.

The Problem Isn’t Motivation
Most people think they’ve “lost motivation.”
But that’s not it.
The real issue?
They don’t adjust the plan.
Make It Easier, Not Harder
Winter isn’t the time to go all in.
It’s the time to simplify.

Here’s what actually works:
5–10 minutes of stretching while watching TV
A quick circuit: squats, wall push-ups, light core work
Resistance band exercises at home
Movement snacks throughout the day
No travel. No setup. No excuses.
Consistency Beats Intensity
You don’t need to sweat for an hour.
You just need to move regularly.

Because:
A little bit done often = progress
Nothing for weeks = starting again
This Is About Your Lifestyle
Your goal isn’t fitness for fitness sake.
It’s being able to:
Keep working
Stay active with family
Do the things you enjoy
That’s what we’re protecting.

Need a Starting Point?
If you’re not sure what to do, keep it simple.
Or come in and we’ll help guide you with:
Simple exercises
Hands-on treatment
A plan that actually fits your life

Cold Weather, Tight Body – Why Winter Hits Harder Than You Think
Why You Feel Stiffer in Winter (And What to Do About It)

Ever noticed how everything feels tighter in winter?
You get out of bed and your back feels stiff.
Your shoulders don’t move as freely.

Even simple things feel harder.
That’s not just in your head.
What’s Actually Happening
Cold weather affects your body in a few key ways:
Muscles tighten to conserve heat
Circulation slows down
Joints feel less mobile
You naturally move less
It’s the perfect setup for stiffness and discomfort.

The Trap Most People Fall Into
When things feel tight, most people do less.
They avoid movement.
They rest more.
They wait for it to “settle down.”
But here’s the problem:
Less movement = more stiffness.
It’s a cycle that keeps getting worse.

What Actually Works
You don’t need a full gym session.
You just need small, consistent inputs:
Gentle stretching daily
Short walks (even 10–15 minutes)

Light mobility work
Staying warm (layers matter more than you think)
These small actions keep your body functioning.

Where Treatment Fits In
This is also the time of year where support matters.
Massage, Myotherapy, and Chiropractic care can:
Loosen tight muscles
Improve circulation
Restore movement

Stop small issues becoming bigger ones
The Bottom Line
Winter doesn’t create problems.
It exposes what hasn’t been maintained.
Stay on top of your body now…
and you’ll thank yourself later.

Muscle cramps don’t just happen — they build.
You think it’s bad luck…

But it’s usually fatigue, tightness, or pushing too hard without the right prep.
Your body tightens, blood flow drops, the muscle locks —
And suddenly you’re stuck, in pain, wondering what went wrong.

You’re not “getting old”…
You’re just not giving your body what it needs to keep up.

The fix is simple:
Stay hydrated (not just water — electrolytes matter)
Keep your muscles strong and flexible
Build up gradually, don’t spike your workload
Look after tight spots before they become a problem

If a cramp hits:
Stop and stretch it out
Apply firm pressure or massage
Walk it off gently
Rehydrate
This is what we see regularly in clinic —
Small things ignored turn into big problems.

Look after your body now, and it will look after you later.
Book in and stay moving.

The Cold Doesn’t Stop Me… It Just Changes How I Show Up

There’s a moment every year when the seasons change.
You step outside, feel that bite in the air… and realise winter has arrived.
For a lot of people, that’s the signal to slow down. Stay inside. Wait for better weather.

For me?
It’s time to get the winter riding gear out.
Gloves. Layers. Thermal top. Maybe a beanie under the helmet.
Because the goal hasn’t changed —
keep moving.
It’s Not About Comfort… It’s About Consistency
I won’t pretend winter rides are easy.
They’re colder.

They take more effort to get started.
And some mornings, motivation isn’t exactly high.
But I’ve learnt this over the years:
If you wait for perfect conditions, you stop progressing.
So instead of stopping, I adjust.
Shorter rides.
More layers.
Better preparation.

Same outcome — I stay on track.
This Is What Most People Miss
The people who keep moving through winter?
They’re the ones who feel better year-round.
They don’t have to “start again” when spring comes.
They don’t lose strength, mobility, or confidence.
They just… keep going.

It’s No Different to Your Body
What I do on the bike is no different to what we see in the clinic.
If you stop completely:
Stiffness builds
Pain creeps in
Movement becomes harder
But if you stay consistent (even at a lower level):
Your body stays mobile
Recovery is easier
You maintain your lifestyle

You don’t need to go hard this winter.
You just need to keep showing up.
Adjust what you’re doing.
Work with the conditions.
But don’t stop.
Because the work you put in now…
is what keeps you moving later.
