If you've noticed changes colour, size, shape, or surface of a mole or spot, it's recommended to seek an assessment.

These changes may warrant further investigation, depending on factors like your age, how long the mole has been present and how quickly it has changed. Other changes to be aware of include new moles, bleeding, rough or scaly areas and spots that don’t heal.

For personalised advice, book in to see your doctor.

Skin checks are important year-round, even during winter. UV exposure continues in cooler months, and skin changes may be harder to notice when covered up.

Regular skin checks may assist in identifying changes early, including signs of melanoma or other skin cancers.

Skin cancer can develop in a range of places — including often-overlooked areas like the scalp, lips, ears, soles of the feet, palms and under nails, inside the mouth, and even around the eyes.

Performing regular self-checks and scheduling skin examinations with your doctor can assist in identifying any changes early.

Speak with your doctor if you notice anything new or unusual.

Not all skin cancers appear as the darkest or most unusual spot on the skin.

Some, like nodular basal cell carcinomas, may appear less obvious than others. This is why regular skin checks may assist in the early detection of skin cancer.

Even in winter, UV rays can affect the skin.

Applying sunscreen daily is recommended to help protect against sun-related skin damage. Did you know an adult typically needs around 7 tablespoons to cover exposed areas?

Regular SPF use may also help reduce the appearance of UV-related skin changes over time.

Can you spot the skin cancer?

We can help detect potential skin malignancies like melanoma, skin cancer and sun damage at their earliest stage.

Our doctors with advanced training in skin cancer medicine use the latest dermoscopic tools to detect tiny changes in your skin cells (often before they are visible to the naked eye!) – which could save your life.

Topical treatment for sun damaged skin, sun spots, pre-cancerous lesions, and ageing concerns.

Now is the perfect time to address the effects of last summer's sun. Sun damage is a major precursor to skin cancer, but topical field treatments can be an effective way to treat sun damaged skin, reduce your risk of developing non-melanoma skin cancers and promote smoother, clearer and healthier skin.
