🌿ANZAC Day – Lest We Forget 🌺
Today we pause to honour ANZAC Day, a day of national remembrance marking the landing of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps at Gallipoli in 1915.
What began as a single moment in history has become a lasting symbol of courage, sacrifice, mateship and resilience — values that continue to shape who we are today.
At Calvary Health Care Kogarah, ANZAC Day holds deep meaning. As a rehabilitation and palliative care service, we are reminded daily of the strength of those who have served, and the ongoing journeys of veterans and their families who live with both visible and invisible wounds.
Today, we pause to reflect, to honour, and to give thanks.
We remember those who gave their lives in service, and we stand in respect of all who continue to carry their legacy.

Supporting our carers 🎨🖌️

Thanks to ClubGRANTS through St. George Leagues Club our Social Workers at Calvary Health Care Kogarah within the Transitional Aged Care Team (TACS) received funding to deliver group sessions for carers.

This initiative has created a valuable opportunity for carers to come together, share their stories and experiences, take some time for themselves, and connect with others who understand their journey.

🖼️🎨Guided by an art therapist, participants will engage in meaningful creative activities, with each person leaving not only with their own handmade piece, but also feeling uplifted, supported and more connected.

A beautiful reminder of the importance of creating spaces where carers feel seen, heard and valued.

We are proud to share this beautiful story from our colleagues at Calvary Narracan Gardens 💙

A big thank you to their talented team members Katrina, Clinical Care Manager, and her husband Ed, Registered Nurse, for creating this stunning pear tree mural in the Oaks building for residents and staff.

For centuries, trees have symbolised life, connection and renewal, places of shelter, reflection and gathering. The pear tree holds special significance for Calvary.

At the first convent of the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary in Hyson Green, Nottingham, a pear tree grew in the garden. Beneath it, Venerable Mary Potter and the early Sisters prayed, planned and celebrated as their mission took root.

Today, that same symbolism of care, nourishment and hope lives on across all our services. It’s beautifully reflected in the creativity and heart Katrina and Ed have brought to this mural, and in the care they show every day.

Thank you to the Narracan Gardens team for sharing this inspiring work with us—we’re delighted to celebrate it here at Calvary Health Care Kogarah.

🎶✨ Premier’s Gala Concert ✨🎶

Recently, some of our amazing volunteers had the opportunity to attend the Premier’s Gala Concert in Darling Harbour as part of the NSW Seniors Festival 2026 —and what a celebration it was!

Filled with music, dancing, singing and connection, it was a special way to recognise and thank our volunteers for the kindness and care they give every day. 💙

The concert featured outstanding performances by Dami Im, Nathan Foley, Jay Laga’aia, Olivia Fox and Tarryn Stokes, an unforgettable experience.

A heartfelt thank you to the organisers, the NSW Government and the NSW Department of Communities and Justice for creating such a memorable event for our community.
