Great to connect with some incredible people at the recent Chamber event – TRACTION for Young People 👏 Incredible to see how young people are given the opportunity to rebuild bikes—supporting engagement, skill development, and positive pathways forward.

I’m always grateful for opportunities to collaborate with individuals and organisations who are passionate about supporting our community—especially when it comes to improving outcomes for children and families.

It was a pleasure speaking with Jules about something I’m deeply passionate about—supporting our children. With a background in child safety, and as a board member for Youth at Lookout 07, this work is incredibly important to me.

The work Jules is doing to support children entering care, including providing essential items for their first 24 hours, is a powerful and much-needed initiative. If you’d like to support this work, I encourage you to connect with Hope for Our Children

I also valued the opportunity to share how Nurse Ktoday , through Humble Academy, can support the sector with trauma-informed child safety and behavioural support training for frontline workers supporting children in care.
Looking forward to continuing these conversations and building strong, safe, and supportive pathways together 💙

When a participant needs change… your support should too.
But too often, supports stay the same — not because providers don’t care, but because they don’t have the clinical evidence to justify change.
That’s where a nursing assessment makes the difference.

As a Clinical Nurse specialising in complex disability care, I work alongside providers to:

✔ Identify changes in clinical needs
✔ Assess risk and safety concerns
✔ Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations
✔ Support documentation for NDIS change of circumstances

This isn’t just paperwork — it’s about ensuring participants receive the right supports, at the right time, for the right reasons.

If you’re noticing changes in: • Behaviour
• Medical needs
• Mobility or function
• Risk profiles

It’s time to consider a nursing assessment.

Because better insight leads to better outcomes — for your participants and your team.

When a participant’s condition changes, it can feel overwhelming — but you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Here’s the truth: changes in health mean supports may no longer match what’s actually needed.
That’s where clarity matters.

A nursing assessment can help identify what’s changed, what risks need to be managed, and what supports will truly make a difference. It provides the clinical evidence to support a Change of Circumstances request with the NDIS — so your participant isn’t left without the care they deserve.
Because this isn’t just paperwork.
It’s about:
✔ Safer care
✔ The right supports in place
✔ Confidence for families and support teams

You’re not just submitting a review.
You’re advocating for better outcomes.
We help you turn clinical insight into clear, compliant evidence — so your participants are seen, heard, and supported.

Feel like your loved one is just another number?
You’re not alone. Navigating care can feel impersonal, rushed, and disconnected — and you deserve better.

At Humble Acts of Service, we believe care should feel human again.
That’s why we’re a nurse-led team who puts relationships first — not rosters.

Our director personally checks in with every care recipient every 6 weeks, ensuring care is evolving, personal, and truly aligned with your needs.
Because real care isn’t just delivered… it’s felt. ❤️
Bring caring acts from the heart to your door.

🌿 Hiking Days | Connection, Growth & Care in Action 🌿

Today’s community outing reminded us why we do what we do 💛

At Humble Acts of Service, every moment outdoors is more than just a walk — it’s an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, support safe and structured experiences, and create space for fun, hands-on learning.

🤝 Relationships First
Through shared experiences like hiking, we strengthen trust, communication, and connection. These moments foster confidence, independence, and genuine bonds between our team and the young people we support.

📋 Guided by Best Practice & Regulation
All activities are delivered within NDIS-aligned frameworks, ensuring safety, dignity, and person-centred care remain at the forefront. Our clinically informed approach means every outing is thoughtfully planned, risk-assessed, and tailored to individual needs.

🌱 Learning Through Experience
From exploring nature to developing social and life skills, our youth clients engage in meaningful learning that feels natural, enjoyable, and empowering.

✨ Because care isn’t just what we do — it’s how we show up.
Acts from the heart, to your door.

Many families feel relief when NDIS funding is approved.

But sometimes the real worry begins when support starts.

Workers change frequently.

Complex health needs aren't always understood.

And families lie awake wondering if the person on shift will know what to do in an emergency.

No family should have to feel that way.

At Humble Acts of Service, we provide nurse-led disability support designed for participants with complex needs.

Our approach focuses on:

• clinically informed care
• consistent support teams
• active goal tracking
• regular check-ins with Management

Because safe, reliable care should never be uncertain.

If you're looking for more consistent and clinically informed support, we invite you to book a free consultation with our team.

We can talk through your current supports, answer questions, and explore how we may be able to help.

What most providers miss in high-intensity epilepsy + PEG care.
In a recent case in Toowoomba, we supported a participant who is wheelchair dependent, PEG fed, and experiences breakthrough seizures.

Supports were in place.
But here’s what we identified:
• Seizure events were documented — but not analysed
• Escalation thresholds weren’t clearly understood
• PEG care varied slightly between staff
• Emergency confidence was inconsistent
Nothing dramatic had happened.
But risk doesn’t always show up loudly. It builds quietly.

As a nurse-led team, we approached this as an education issue — not a staffing issue.
We implemented:
✔ Seizure education refresher for all staff
✔ Clear timing and escalation training
✔ PEG competency reinforcement
✔ Structured checklist systems
✔ Ongoing clinical review
Outcome over several months:
• Zero preventable hospital presentations at Toowoomba Hospital
• No PEG complications
• Improved documentation quality
• Increased staff confidence

High-intensity care improves when teams are educated, not just rostered.
That’s the difference education makes.
