🌟 Prelude Australia at the 2026 UON Allied Health Expo! 🌟

We were proud to be part of the 2026 Allied Health Expo at the University of Newcastle, connecting with the next generation of allied health professionals.

Our CEO Kimberly joined the Employer Insights Panel- discussing workforce opportunities, industry challenges and how allied health graduates can make meaningful impacts in the sector.

Our incredible Occupational Therapist Emily and People and Culture Coordinator Nadine also spent the day speaking with UON students about careers in therapy, pathways into the sector, and life at Prelude Australia.

A huge thank you to Careers & Employability team at the University of Newcastle for hosting such a valuable event and fostering strong links between students and industry.

We loved meeting so many passionate future practitioners.

Our friends over at Siblings Australia are excited to host their second SibWorks workshops for 2026, and this year they are offering something a little different.

Their nationally recognised SibWorks program is running online so all sibling children (the brothers and sisters of someone with a disability or chronic illness) aged 8–12, can access this program, which is designed to support emotional wellbeing, resilience and connection.

Give your sibling child the opportunity to build connections, develop new skills and have fun in a safe and nurturing space.

Over the Easter long weekend, we were proud to see our Inclusive Futures Project featured on NBN News.

We are incredibly grateful to the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation for their generous support in funding this important work. Their investment is helping us build the capacity of educators to confidently support all children, both now and into the future.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the services and educators taking part in the project. Your commitment to building your skills and creating inclusive environments is making a meaningful difference.

By strengthening the skills and knowledge of those working directly with children, we are creating more inclusive environments where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

There will be no playgroup at Kurri today.
We will see all our playgroup families after the school holidays. Playgroups will return Monday 20th April.

Every child sees the world in their own special way — and every child deserves to feel valued and supported.

2nd April is World Autism Awareness Day, recognised by the United Nations to help people around the world better understand autism and support children with autism and their families.

This year’s theme, “Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value,” reminds us that every child with autism is unique and valued. Children with autism bring their own strengths, interests, and ways of experiencing the world.

At Prelude Australia, we are proud to support children with autism and their families through early childhood and therapy supports that helps children build skills, confidence, and connections.

Today is a chance to celebrate children with autism and encourage our communities to continue building understanding, acceptance, and inclusion, so every child has the opportunity to thrive. 💙

It was a proud moment to see our team in action, with our Service Manager, CEO and the incredible team from Cessnock Multipurpose Children's Centre recently interviewed by NBN 🎥

Together, they shared the impact of the Inclusive Futures Project—funded by Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation—and why building the capacity of educators is so critical to creating inclusive education and care environments.

Every child deserves to feel seen, supported and able to participate fully. By equipping educators with the skills, confidence and strategies to support children with additional needs, we’re helping create environments where all children can thrive.

Trains, play, and real progress 🚂

This is what a Speech Pathology session looks like for two of our Prelude Australia clients. Jocelyn works with their strengths and interests in play-based sessions, following their lead and building towards their goals in a way that feels natural and fun.

The boys Mum said it best: "Prelude Australia has been great for our boys. They love spending time with Jocelyn and Sally."

That's exactly what we're here for. Play-based, family-centred support that meets kids where they are, because real progress happens in real moments.

Our Maitland site currently has speech therapy capacity to provide support.

Today is National Close the Gap Day — a time to stand together for equality in health and wellbeing for First Nations peoples.

At Prelude Australia, we believe every child deserves the best possible start in life. We are committed to creating welcoming, culturally respectful spaces where First Nations children and families feel safe, heard and supported.

Prelude Australia are proud of our partnerships with Moree & District Early Childhood Intervention Service and Shaping Outcomes through our VECTS (Virtual Early Childhood Telepractice Support) support.

Through VECTS, our teams work alongside First Nations children, families and communities to provide accessible therapy, coaching and resources, no matter where they live.

Together, we can help build a future where all children have equal opportunities and strong foundations for life. ❤️💛🖤
