Some friendships and connections stand the test of time. ❤️

Earlier this month, resident Noel Roberts enjoyed a wonderful catch-up with Stevan Cormack.

Stevan's wife Angela has been the Roberts family's hairdresser for many years, while Stevan once worked under Noel at McColl's in Tongala, where Noel was his boss.

They shared plenty of memories, stories and laughs as they reflected on years gone by. It's moments like these that remind us how deeply connected our communities are and how special it is to reconnect with familiar faces.

🎨💧 A simple brushstroke. A beautiful smile 💙

Recently, Warramunda Village’s Joy Orr and Lifestyle Assistant Jill Colston attended the Aged Care Recreation & Lifestyle Conference 2026 in Melbourne, joining aged care professionals from across Australia to share ideas, inspiration and innovative activities for residents.

While attending the conference, they discovered something truly special — Aqua Painting through Activities for Care.

Using only water and a paintbrush, hidden images slowly appear on the page, creating moments of reminiscence, conversation and joy for people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Once dry, the image gently fades away, ready to be used again.

Resident Quentin Halls recently gave Aqua Painting a try, and the results were simply beautiful. 🖌️✨

As the image appeared before him, Quentin’s excitement grew with every brushstroke. The smile on his face said it all.

Joy shared:
💬 “I do not believe I have seen Quentin smile like that. He was so proud of what he had achieved.”

Moments like these remind us that meaningful engagement can come from the simplest things — a brush, a little water, and the chance to create something special. 💙

🧠💜 Supporting Families Through Understanding 💜🧠
Today, Warramunda Village, in partnership with Dementia Australia, hosted a valuable information session for families, focusing on the basics of dementia and the many supports available for those caring for a loved one living with dementia. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦☕📖
We were delighted to welcome Ellie Wharton, Dementia Support Specialist from the Bendigo branch of Dementia Australia, who delivered an informative and compassionate session for families in attendance. 💬✨
Following the presentation, Ellie also spent time chatting one-on-one with families over a cuppa and muffins, helping answer individual questions and providing guidance tailored to each family’s journey. ☕🧁💛
Dementia Australia offers a range of helpful resources and support services, including the National Dementia Hotline:

A big thank you to Ellie and Dementia Australia for sharing their knowledge, support and kindness with our Warramunda community. 🌿💜

🐾💐 Mother's Day vistors 💐🐾

There were plenty of smiles, cuddles and wagging tails around Warramunda Village on May 5 when Vonda and Teddy from Ky Paws'n'Claws paid a special Mother’s Day visit to our residents. 🐶💛

🎉🌟 APRIL “THE LINDY” WINNER ANNOUNCED! 🌟🎉
Warramunda Village, it’s time to give a HUGE round of applause to our April winner of ✨ The Lindy ✨… the one and only CASSIE O’DWYER! 👏💛👩‍🍳
If you know Cass, you already know why she was one of 15 incredible nominees this month (she was nominated last month as well) - and why she absolutely SHINES in everything she does. From the kitchen to The Switch Café to whipping up residents’ favourite treats (or at least most of them 😄), Cassie brings heart, humour, and pure excellence to every shift.
And yes… she was very surprised, and humble (as always)!
Cassie has a beautiful connection to the award’s namesake, Lindy Sheers, who worked alongside her years ago. Lindy, usually based in the laundry (now named in her honour 💛), picked up extra kitchen shifts from 3–6 pm, and Cass remembers her as someone who never forgot a birthday and always brought TattsLotto tickets - even if Cass never won! 🎟️😂 Those memories make this award extra special for her.
But for the full story - including Cassie’s journey from Numurkah to Brisbane to Kyabram, her café days at Azucar and Restaurant 3620, and her rise to Catering Manager - you’ll want to read this month’s edition of Waggles, the Warramunda Village newsletter. It’s packed with all the details, stories, and smiles.
🌼 APRIL NOMINEES 🌼
A massive congratulations to all 15 staff members nominated this month - what a list!
Kim Evans • Jason White • Colleen Sutton • Cassie O’Dwyer • Vanessa Laidlaw • Sean Davidson • Billie Merritt • Marissa Hooper • Theresa Heenan • Dustyn Lawler • Angelina Sutrisna • Emily Melville • Virgie Mabulac • Kath Atkins • Ross Cooper
You’re all superstars ⭐ and you make Warramunda the warm, caring community it is.
And of course, a shout‑out to Louise Connally, our inaugural March winner! 🌟
💛 WHAT IS “THE LINDY”?
It’s our new monthly award celebrating staff who live our WE CARE values - Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. At the end of 12 months, one of the monthly winners will be crowned the overall recipient at our Service Awards event.
📬 WANT TO READ WAGGLES?
If you’d like to receive the newsletter electronically, just contact Jason White in Administration and let him know your connection to Warramunda Village. He’ll add you to the distribution list so you never miss a story, a smile, or a celebration.
🎉 Congratulations again, Cassie - you make Warramunda better every single day! 💛👩‍🍳✨

📚🚌 Words on Wheels Visits Warramunda 🚌📚

Earlier this month, our residents enjoyed another wonderful Words on Wheels session with Belinda from the Campaspe Library Service, who was joined by her very special little helper, Benjamin. 💜

This month’s topic was Good Advice, sparking plenty of conversation, memories, laughter and shared wisdom among residents throughout the session.

The Words on Wheels sessions are created by Campaspe Library Service and delivered by dedicated library volunteers on the first Monday of each month, and they continue to be something our residents look forward to greatly. ✨

We are already excited for June’s topic… Aussie Bush Characters! 🌿🐴🇦🇺

A big thank you to Belinda, Benjamin and the Campaspe Library team for bringing stories, connection and community into our Village. 🏡📖

🍋🌳 Homegrown Happiness at Warramunda 🌳🍋

Saunders Street Wing resident Nancy Elborough recently invited us out into the courtyard to proudly show off the incredible produce growing on our fruit trees at Warramunda Village. 💜

Nancy was more than happy to pose beside each tree, sharing her excitement and admiration for what is flourishing in the garden. And judging by the photos… the lemons are certainly stealing the show! 🍋😄

In the first picture, Nancy is holding one of the giant lemons beside her face to show just how big it really is. As Nancy proudly put it: “We grow big lemons here at Warramunda!” 💛

The remaining photos feature Nancy alongside the beautiful lemon, lime, orange and pomegranate trees growing in our courtyard gardens. 🌿🍊

Moments like these are a lovely reminder of the joy that can be found in simple things… sunshine, gardens, and sharing them with others. 🏡✨

💜 67 Years of Love 💜

There are some love stories that quietly wrap themselves around your heart… and Elaine and Keith Tinning’s is certainly one of them. 🥹✨

On Saturday, May 2, Elaine and Keith celebrated an incredible 67 years of marriage together.

Elaine now calls Warramunda Village home, while Keith still lives in Tongala… but not a single day passes without him making the trip to visit her. Every. Single. Day. 💐🚗

Their devotion to one another is something truly special and a beautiful reminder that love is often found in the little things… a daily visit, a shared laugh, holding hands, and simply being there. ❤️

And yes… we may have made a tiny mistake on the anniversary cake 🎂😅
But in a room filled with this much love, nobody seemed to mind one little bit.

Congratulations Elaine and Keith on 67 wonderful years together. Thank you for letting us share in such a beautiful milestone. 💜🏡
