We know that in many smaller communities, there is a lack of support for older people who want to stay in their own home but may need some help with everyday activities 🏡💛
For some, “Support at Home” is a new term, so here’s a simple explanation of what it is, how it works, and how Warramunda Community Care can help 📘✨
Support at Home is the new name for what was previously known as Home Care. While the name has changed, the focus remains the same - supporting older people to stay independent, safe and comfortable in their own homes for as long as possible 🌿🤝
The new system has opened the door for more people to access support. Whether it’s one visit a week, help with the garden, housework, shopping, or more personal support such as showering, dressing or meal preparation, services can be tailored to suit individual needs 🌼🧺🛒
Warramunda Community Care continues to lead the way in delivering these services across the region. Our team is experienced and committed to helping people live well at home 🌟👥
If you’d like to understand how Support at Home works, what you may be eligible for, or how to get started, our team is only a phone call away ☎️
Please call us now on 5852 2611. Our team, including one of our newest team members Zoe, is ready to take your call.

⭐ GOLDFIELDS PLAYING AREA – MARCH BOWLER OF THE YEAR ⭐
🎉 Final month of nominations for 2025–26 🎉
As we wrap up the final month of the Warramunda Community Care Bowler of the Year Awards, we continue to recognise the people whose dedication, reliability and community spirit keep our regional clubs strong.
A warm congratulations once again to Rod Phillips, recently crowned the overall Bowler of the Year for the Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields Bowls Region - a tremendous achievement in a standout season.
Today, we celebrate our March monthly winner from the Goldfields Playing Area - a man whose contribution to his club is nothing short of remarkable.

🏆 Winner – Peter Sedgwick (Maldon Bowling Club - Lawn Bowls)
For more than a decade, Peter Sedgwick has been one of the driving forces behind Maldon Bowling Club - a steady, reliable presence whose work touches every part of club life.
Across 10 years, Peter has:
- Served four years as President of the Board
- Contributed a full decade on the club committee
- Taken on the roles of Tournament Coordinator and Greens Keeper
- Played Division 1 Pennant as a Saturday skipper
- Purchased drinks for the bar
- Coached juniors
- Supported the annual Primary Schools Progra
- Organised music for monthly Barefoot Bowls
- Cooked at the monthly community BBQ & bowls nights
- Represented the club at Area Delegates Meetings

Peter is the definition of a club cornerstone - someone who steps in wherever needed, keeps things running smoothly, and ensures Maldon remains a welcoming, vibrant and community‑minded club. His contribution is immense, and this recognition is richly deserved. 💛🎳

⭐ CAMPASPE PLAYING AREA – MARCH BOWLER OF THE YEAR ⭐
🎉 Final month of nominations for 2025–26 🎉
With March marking the final month of nominations for the Warramunda Community Care Bowler of the Year Awards, we’re thrilled to recognise two outstanding contributors to the Campaspe playing area.
Before we celebrate them, a huge congratulations once again to Rod Phillips, who last week was named the overall Bowler of the Year for the Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields Bowls Region. A remarkable achievement in a remarkable season.
Today, though, belongs to our March monthly winners — two men whose impact on their clubs stretches far beyond the scoreboard.

🏆 Winner – Graeme Topp (Kyabram Valley View)
Graeme’s nomination spoke of loyalty, longevity and leadership — but the truth is even bigger. Once in the lifetime of a club, within the long rhythm of its history, there is a person who stands head and shoulders above everyone else. Graeme is that man.
His decades in the sport would be enough to earn recognition on their own, yet it’s the energy he still brings to a small club — one that relies on a handful of dedicated people — that truly sets him apart. Midweek or weekend, Graeme is there. Supporting teammates, welcoming visitors, and representing Valley View with humility and pride.
His attitude toward the sport, the clubs Valley View competes against, and the region as a whole is exactly why he has been honoured. A pillar of his club, and a credit to the Campaspe bowls community. 💙🎳

🥈 Runner‑Up – Bill McEwan (Rich River Bowls Club)
Bill is the kind of club person every organisation dreams of — a Pennant player, a social bowler, a past committee member, and a volunteer since the club’s inception. But ask anyone at Rich River what Bill is famous for, and you’ll get the same answer: his legendary barbecuing skills.
It has become his calling card — almost beyond his exceptional organisational work for tournaments and his tireless computer scoring support. Bill brings warmth, humour and reliability to every event, and Rich River is stronger for it. 🔥🍔

Graeme receives a $200 cash prize from Warramunda Community Care, and Bill receives a $100 Moama Bowling Club voucher.
A heartfelt thank you to every nominator and congratulations to all nominees across the Campaspe playing area. Your stories are the heartbeat of this award.
⏳ The final nominations for the year will be announced within the next 24 hours, and the Goulburn Murray Bowls Region Bowler of the Year will also soon be unveiled.
The Bowler of the Year Award will return in 2026–27, with an even stronger focus on recognising the community contributions that keep our sport thriving.
We would love feedback from the bowls community about how we can continue to improve and grow this award.

⭐ GOULBURN PLAYING AREA – MARCH BOWLER OF THE YEAR ⭐
🎉 Final month of nominations for 2025–26 🎉
As we close out the final month of the Warramunda Community Care Bowler of the Year Awards, we continue to highlight the people whose commitment, spirit and quiet leadership keep our regional clubs thriving.
A warm congratulations again to Rod Phillips, recently named the overall Bowler of the Year for the Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields Bowls Region - a well‑earned honour in a standout season.
Today, we celebrate our March monthly winners from the Goulburn Playing Area - two men whose contributions reach far beyond their own performances.

🏆 Winner – Tony Kingma (Euroa Bowls Club)
Every club has a heartbeat - someone whose presence, work ethic and spirit lift everyone around them. For Euroa, that person is Tony Kingma.
Tony excels in every corner of club life. A high‑achieving bowler at both pennant and club level, he is a no‑fuss operator whose influence has been central to Euroa’s outstanding year on and off the green. He sees what needs doing and simply gets it done - no fanfare, no fuss, just commitment.
His achievements are exceptional:
- Division 1 Midweek Premiership player
- Euroa Pairs Champion three years running
- Match Committee Chair, organising all club events and championships
- Bar manager for most club functions
- Green marking volunteer, helping maintain some of the best surfaces in the competition
- Caretaker of the surrounds, pruning, cleaning and maintaining the club’s presentation
- Mentor to new bowlers, and a key driver of new memberships through his community engagement
Euroa has flourished this year because of the spirit Tony brings every single day. A quiet achiever, a tireless worker, and a richly deserving winner. 💙🎳

🥈 Runner‑Up – Geoff Higgins (Murchison Bowls Club)
Murchison is a stronger, more connected club because of Geoff Higgins — a man who has stepped into almost every role available and delivered each with enthusiasm, professionalism and heart.
Geoff’s contributions include:
- Pennant Skip – 6 years
- Club President – 4 years
- Club Champion – 3 years
- Volunteer Greenkeeper – 6 years
- Tournament Director – 5 years
Since joining the club, Geoff has thrown himself into every aspect of its operation. His leadership, reliability and community spirit have shaped Murchison’s culture and strengthened its place in the region. He is the definition of “above and beyond.” 💚👏

Tony receives a $200 cash prize from Warramunda Community Care, and Geoff receives a $100 Moama Bowling Club voucher.
A heartfelt thank you to every nominator, and congratulations to all nominees across the Goulburn Playing Area. Your contributions are the foundation of this award.

⭐ BENDIGO PLAYING AREA – MARCH BOWLER OF THE YEAR ⭐
🎉 Final month of nominations for 2025–26 🎉
As we reach the final month of the Warramunda Community Care Bowler of the Year Awards, we continue to celebrate the people whose dedication, spirit and service keep our regional clubs strong.
A huge congratulations once again to Rod Phillips, recently crowned the overall Bowler of the Year for the Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields Bowls Region - a fitting recognition for an outstanding season.
Today, we shine a light on our March monthly winners from the BCG Bowls Region - Bendigo Playing Area - two contributors whose impact stretches far beyond their on‑green achievements.

🏆 Winner – Bev Taig (Inglewood Bowling & Sports club)
Every club has a defining figure — someone whose influence spans generations, whose leadership shapes culture, and whose presence becomes woven into the fabric of the place. For Inglewood, that person is Bev Taig.
Across 36 years, Bev has been a constant:
- Seven years as Ladies President
- Long‑serving member of the Management, Selection and Catering Committees
- A guiding mentor for new bowlers
- A driving force behind the 2003 Clubhouse Extension
- A major sponsor and tireless volunteer
Her achievements on the green are equally impressive - three Ladies Club Championships, six Club Pairs titles, a Bendigo District Ladies Association Fours win, and five Premierships. But it is her influence, stability and generosity that have underpinned Inglewood’s success for decades. Bev is the heartbeat of her club, and her contribution is deeply appreciated. 💙🎳

🥈 Runner‑Up – Luke Hoskin (Bendigo Bowls Club)
Few people have shaped Bendigo Bowls Club’s recent journey quite like Luke Hoskin. Arriving in 2022 at a challenging moment, Luke immediately set a new standard — delivering a premiership in his first season and guiding the club to the brink of a State Weekend Pennant final.
Luke is a coach, a mentor, a selector, a Board member, and the organiser behind the club’s Best & Fairest nights. He has supported new bowlers, refined the skills of experienced players, and become the person everyone feels comfortable approaching — whether for advice, encouragement or a quiet word.
His singles and mixed pairs titles reflect his ability, but his true legacy is cultural: stability, belief and connection. As Luke steps into the next stage of his life, Bendigo Bowls Club remains stronger for his leadership, and grateful for everything he has given. 🔵💛

Bev receives a $200 cash prize from Warramunda Community Care, and Luke receives a $100 Moama Bowling Club voucher.
A heartfelt thank you to every nominator, and congratulations to all nominees across the Bendigo Playing Area. Your contributions are the reason this award exists.

Congratulations to Rod Phillips, the inaugural winner of the Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields Bowls Region Warramunda Community Care Bowler of the Year Award.
While Rod finished with two grand final wins for 2025-26, with his beloved Castlemaine Bowls Club, it was his off-rink achievements that first earned him a BCG Bowls Region - Bendigo Playing Area nomination (way back in October).
It was this passion for the sport and sharing it with all vast audience that eventually won him the $500 Warramunda Community Care Bowler of the Year prize.
He was a worthy and popular winner when he accepted the award with wife Sandra at the Bendigo Club earlier today.
We can also announce that the award will continue next year.
Thank you to our sponsor partner Moama Bowling Club for their support in delivering the award and to the BCG executive - Vicky Tierney, Barry Brown and their board.
The winner of the Goulburn Murray Bowls Region Bowler of the Year award will be announced in May.

V⭐ GOULBURN PLAYING AREA – FEBRUARY BOWLER OF THE YEAR ⭐
Grand Final Edition 🎳🔥
It’s been a huge week across the Goulburn Murray Bowls Region, with Weekend and Midweek Pennant Grand Finals played this week. A massive congratulations to all premiership‑winning teams - a brilliant reward for months of commitment, teamwork and resilience. 🏆👏

Please join us in celebrating our February Bowler of the Year winner and runner‑up for the Goulburn playing area.

🏆 Winner — Darren Kelly (Mooroopna Bowling Club)
Few contributors in the Goulburn region match the breadth and depth of Darren Kelly’s service to Mooroopna. A brilliant all‑rounder, Darren not only skips in the Division 1 side, he has represented the Goulburn Valley on numerous occasions and has won multiple Singles and Pairs Club Championships.
But Darren’s influence extends far beyond the green. He has served as Club Secretary for seven years, Greens Keeper for the past 18 months, and Tournament Director for more than seven years, overseeing two major tournaments annually. His administrative footprint includes roles on the Match, Selection and Greens Committees, and he currently serves as Chair of the GV Match Committee.
A leader, organiser, competitor and tireless volunteer — Darren’s contribution is immense, and his February win is richly deserved. 💙🎳

🥈 Runner‑Up — Jenny Furletti (Avenel Bowling Club)
Avenel’s Jenny Furletti is a powerhouse of contribution, both on the green and behind the scenes. Since joining the club, she has taken on countless roles: club delegate, Board Director, long‑serving Catering Officer, and a guiding hand in major club functions including funeral wakes, Christmas events, birthday celebrations and workplace gatherings.
On the green, Jenny is a formidable competitor — Ladies Club Champion nine times (2003, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) and a finalist again this year. She plays in Avenel’s highest pennant division and was awarded Life Membership in 2022, alongside her husband David.
She also raises funds through homemade jams, pickles and chutneys, and helps maintain the club gardens. A remarkable all‑round contributor and a thoroughly deserving February runner‑up. 💛👏

🎖️ Congratulations also to our remaining Goulburn nominees:
Nagambie – John Sinden
The driving force behind the maintenance and quality of Nagambie’s Marie Street greens. John is the first person the bowls community calls when something needs doing - especially when volunteers are scarce. East Shepparton – Jeanette Doherty
A champion bowler and prolific community volunteer. Jeanette and partner Marilyn Cox won the Goulburn Valley Ladies Champion of Champions Pairs, sealed by Jeanette’s “magnificent last bowl” for a one‑shot victory. ⭐ MURRAY PLAYING AREA – FEBRUARY BOWLER OF THE YEAR ⭐
Grand Final Edition 🎳🔥
It’s been a huge weekend in the Murray Playing Area, with Weekend Pennant Grand Finals played yesterday and midweek to be played this Tuesday. A massive congratulations to all premiership‑winning teams — a brilliant reward for months of commitment, teamwork and resilience. 🏆👏
Both our February honourees have enjoyed exceptional seasons and continued to shape their clubs through leadership, loyalty and long‑standing service.
Please join us in celebrating our February Bowler of the Year winner and runner‑up for the Murray playing area.

🏆 Winner Colin Campbell (Barooga Bowling Club)
For more than 23 years, Colin Campbell has been one of Barooga’s most influential contributors — a tireless volunteer, a respected administrator and a talented bowler whose impact reaches every corner of the club.
Since joining in 2003, Colin has taken on roles that many clubs struggle to fill. He has coordinated and run the club’s Monday Night Social Bowls for 18 consecutive years, and serves as the long‑standing Tournament Director for the Victorian RSL Lawn Bowls Edinburgh Shield Competition. His administrative service includes three terms as President (2014–2017) and four terms as Secretary (2008–2012).
Colin also continues to serve as Bar Manager, a role he has held for many years — ordering stock, filling fridges, supporting members and assisting visiting groups, often giving countless voluntary hours. He is also the club’s Work Health & Safety Officer, attending monthly meetings and ensuring safe operations.
On the green, Colin is equally impressive. He has played in multiple pennant premierships across Division 1, 2, 3 and 4, and won the B Grade Club Singles Championship in 2014–15. A complete contributor - on the rink, behind the bar, in the office and everywhere in between. 💙🎳

🥈 Runner‑Up Gayle Reynoldson (Berrigan Bowls - the Mighty Curlews!)
A constant presence for the Mighty Curlews, Gayle Reynoldson is the organisational backbone of Berrigan Community Sports Bowls Club. As Secretary, she manages essential communications, membership records and serves as the primary point of contact for members and visitors.
On the green, Gayle is just as committed - a regular in both Weekend and Midweek Pennant, contributing consistency, reliability and a strong competitive spirit. Her ability to balance administrative leadership with on‑green performance makes her a standout figure at Berrigan and a thoroughly deserving February runner‑up. 💛👏

🎖️ Congratulations also to our remaining Murray nominees:
Wunghnu Bowls Club – Peter Revell
A vital contributor in one of the most important roles in bowls - greens keeper. maintains a warm, welcoming presence and continues to perform strongly on the green. His work ensures Wunghnu’s playing surface remains a source of pride.
Berrigan Bowls - the Mighty Curlews! – Elaine Hawkins
A life member (awarded May 2024) and the driving force behind Berrigan’s Midweek Pennant program. Elaine manages team selections, coordinates competitions, and represents the club at regional meetings. Her leadership, organisation and long‑term service make her an invaluable contributor.
