🧠 This National Stroke Week, we're here to remind you of the critical role that radiology plays in stroke diagnosis and management. At Lake Imaging, our team is equipped with advanced CT and MRI technology to support rapid stroke assessment.

Stroke Foundation recommends the F.A.S.T. test as an easy way to remember the most common signs of stroke. Using the F.A.S.T. test involves asking these simple questions:
1. Face: Check their face. Has their mouth drooped?
2. Arms: Can they lift both arms?
3. Speech: Is their speech slurred? Do they understand you?
4. Time: Is critical. If you see any of these signs call 000 (triple zero) straight away.

A stroke is always a medical emergency. Keep looking at your family, friends and colleagues - it could save their life.

Medicare has recently eased regulations around MRI services, which is good news for both patients and referrers.

These changes mean:
✅ Greater appointment availability
= faster access to MRI scans
✅ Increased eligibility
= less booking constraints
✅ Bulk billing provisions and/or reduced out-of-pocket fees
= affordable quality imaging

In 2027, the Government will completely deregulate MRI licensing, which will allow Lake Imaging to further support the communities in which we operate.
