Hi again,

I wanted to let you know a bit more about Bowen Therapy for your consideration.
Bowen Therapy initially appealed to me as a therapy to 'give a go' because every traditional option I tried didn't succeed to 'fix' or at least bring to a manageable level, my stuck jaw.
In desperation I tried this therapy and it wasn't what I expected it to be but it worked in that I've never had that problem again. That was over 20 years ago and Bowen Therapy has helped me ever since. Hence why I chose to study it.

Bowen Therapy, somehow through the action of the unique Bowen Move and the positions on the body these moves are made 'talks' to the Body's Inner Doctor' , that magnificent wisdom that we cannot possibly come close to fathoming. How it does that for me is science and magic together which suits me just fine. Theories are that it reboots or offers energy input to this wondrous system which I tend to think is true, that the release of muscles, ligaments and tendons over the body assists the body to reset to a former blueprint of balance, also true to my mind; that the gentle moves impact the fascia, which is the connective tissue which covers our entire body just below the surface of the skin and which can detect areas of constriction and stiffness, and get them fluid again, also true I think. Other ideas are that certain moves are connected to important points on meridians in the body which are energy pathways connected to specific organs and my observations of the way moves in one spot can elicit sensations at very different geographical sites on the body support this theory. And for some the idea that Bowen Therapy reconnects the electrical circuits in the body makes sense ;this too is a very reasonable theory, as is that mechanically the moves loosen tight muscles, tendons ligaments and in turn assist compromised nerves to be restored to balance.

Whatever this remarkable therapy is doing it has helped tens of thousands of people all over the world, from babies who have been impacted by birth trauma to our oldest citizens who seek help from a lifetime of experience as it can impact the body. Feeling more balanced, in less pain or no pain, feeling a sense of well-being which is harder in these challenging times, feeling like you've done something nice for your body, and having your sciatica go or your carpel tunnel syndrome resolve, or having more controlled asthma or other respiratory difficulties, having less knee ,back, hip, shoulder pain, sport injury rehabilitation, or feeling more alive and in some cases less PTSD or anxiety symptoms ---- all is possible within the resources of your body's capacity to heal.

Yes, it is a different approach to the more traditional ones which is treating specific physical parts of the body, but these often don't work. To my mind we are far more interconnected, complex and interesting than that: we are an incredible spark of creation filled with colour, light, energy and huge potential.

As a side note I've just watched a series of webinars put out by the Bowen Association on the impact of concussion on some people long term and the research being done in sports clinics and schools in Canada and it seems that the Bowen Concussion Protocol skillfully applied post incident, has safely initiated the swift remedial rebalancing of sports-induced post concussion syndrome in a high percentage of cases. Having listened to the research findings and understanding the benefit of Bowen Therapy I would advise anyone who has experienced a concussion and perhaps isn't feeling 100% to come and have a couple of Bowen treatments.

This is Tom Bowen who created this technique who is working on a young girl with cerebral palsy. A humanitarian, Tom provided free clinics to people with disabilities all his working life. He lived and worked in Geelong Victoria.

Many people including me have found Bowen Therapy or other 'alternative health modalities' when the traditional allopathic solutions haven't worked. In my case twenty years ago it was an injured jaw joint that wouldn't open making eating difficult! A health food shop employee gave me the name of our local Bowen Therapist and I think after 3 sessions I was well and truly on the road to recovery.

If you can relate to this then I suggest you don't lose hope and give other modalities a try. Choose the one that draws your attention. In our Centre at 63 Summerland Way you have four established alternative treatment modalities: Kinesiology, Reflexology, Hypnotherapy and Bowen Therapy. All are non invasive, can work alongside allopathic medicine and have helped thousands of people all over the world.
So if you live with pain and discomfort, it's well worth the effort to not give up and try something new. You may be delighted with the results ⭐️

The experience of Bowen Therapy is gentle and relaxing, yet the effects are unexpectedly deep acting.

~ What does this mean? ~

The accumulated baggage you are carrying around with you, weighing you down, whether it be from childhood stresses or trauma, work difficulties, pain, illness and injury, mental and physical exhaustion, anxiety, depression and the list is a long one: there is always a reason for it !!

Your own body knows and understands, it has access to all of your life experiences. The wisdom of your body is a beautiful thing and Bowen Therapy honours this by simply rebooting your inner healing systems and allowing the body to heal itself.

Each time stored body tension is released, more energy becomes available to deal with your present life, including immune system responses!
So... Bowen Therapy can assist the body to physically relieve pain and discomfort and has had years of success doing just that for thousands of people worldwide.

It can find where in your body you are 'gummed up' from life's many 'battle scars' and get your energy flowing again, clearing out the stale and allowing for the healthy and renewed.

Please feel free to DM or call me for more information about Bowen Therapy & have a fantastic week!

Hi to all 😊 thought I would share some extra information for those who haven't tried a Bowen Therapy treatment yet and are perhaps wondering what it's all about.

🌈 ~ Bowen Therapy Explained ~ 🌈

Bowen Therapy is an Australian technique invented by Tom Bowen.
He was a humble man who, in his lifetime and beyond, made an incredible impact on humanity around the world after he developed this unique therapeutic system now practiced in more than 40 countries.

Bowen Therapy is a holistic remedial body technique which is performed on the superficial and deep fascia. The fascia, or soft tissue, is the part of the connective tissue that envelops, separates and influences every organ and tissue in the body.

The Bowen technique is safe to use on anyone, from newborns to the elderly and may offer: relief from pain, long-term injuries and illnesses, and improved : health and flexibility, sporting performance, relaxation, and emotional and mental well-being.

It is a holistic treatment that treats the whole person and aims to treat the cause of problems, rather than the symptoms. It utilizes subtle inputs to the body (known as moves), stimulating the body to heal itself, often profoundly.

A Bowen treatment consists of sequences of small moves at varying pressures, each at a specific site on the body. The treatment is pleasant – therapists use light, cross-fibre manoeuvres of muscle, tendon or ligament with no forceful manipulation.

A treatment will typically last between 40 minutes and one hour. It can be provided through a layer of light clothing, although you may be asked to remove heavy or thick garments. During this time, the therapist may leave the room for periods of two to five minutes at a time. This allows time for your body to respond to the treatment and for the necessary changes to occur in your body before commencing the next sequence of moves.

Bowen is not an ongoing therapy. The person may experience relief after just the first session and significant resolution or recovery within three sessions. However, chronic or long-standing conditions or repeat injury may require additional treatments and if symptoms do not resolve, you should see your doctor.

Your therapist may advise you not to have any other physical therapy or other forms of manipulation – such as massage, chiropractic, physiotherapy, acupuncture – for one week after the treatment, while your body adjusts to the treatment.

the Bowen Space ✨

Bowen is a whole body technique which means that the moves performed on the body trigger the body's recalibrating systems which affect the whole person. So a Bowen session may result for example, in reduced sciatic pain and a welcome increase in energy. Or it may result in increased shoulder movement and less toxic frustration and impatience, as another example. Deeper still, the chip on your shoulder which has lived there a lifetime causing you to never feel good enough may slowly dissolve as the Bowen moves trigger the release of a memory from early childhood which hurt your sense of self worth, probably unintentionally. Relief from these deeper imbalances can improve quality of life enormously.
You are unique and so is your life story.
So come for a Bowen session and see how you feel after. It's worth it.
