Hi, my name is Karen and I love my role as a Support Worker. I've been dedicated to this rewarding career since 2012 and from my very first day, I've thoroughly enjoyed helping clients with everything from everyday tasks to attending medical appointments and getting them out into the community to socialize and live life to the fullest. Making people's days a little easier and seeing them thrive brings me immense joy.

I hold a Cert IV in Disability, which underpins my ability to provide dedicated care. Since working in this industry, I’ve found so much joy in assisting and caring for my clients making it the most rewarding career a person could pursue.

Being relatively new to Queensland, I enjoy getting out and about to discover everything this beautiful state has to offer. In my spare time, you'll find me exploring special attractions, markets, shows, the beach and trying out new cuisines. I also love spending quality time with my family and my two toy poodles. I'm currently even trying to learn how to clip them myself! My hobbies include gardening, home decorating, watching true-story movies and of course, a bit of shopping.

My background as a Philippine-Australian, born and raised in the Philippines, has shaped much of who I am. I'm able to communicate in English, Tagalog, and Native Bisaya which is incredibly valuable for connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and ensuring everyone feels understood and supported. Outside of my fulfilling work, I'm also a busy mother and enjoy channelling my creativity through my other passions. My large family-as a mother of three, a grandmother of four and having grown up as one of eleven siblings-has instilled in me a profound appreciation for strong connections and the vital importance of a supportive community.

I joined Authentic Care motivated by a powerful desire to help others. My prior work in the disability field provided firsthand insight into the significant need for empathetic and dedicated support. This experience truly solidified my commitment to making a tangible difference in people's lives every day.

Outside of my rewarding work, I love spending quality time with my cherished loved ones. You might also find me indulging my passion for gardening, losing myself in the pages of a captivating book or simply enjoying the beauty of the great outdoors. I'm Rogelina and I'm happy to be a Support Worker here at Authentic Care, bringing my Filipino background and passion for care to the role. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect with people, thanks to being fluent in Filipino, Tagalog, and English. This really allows me to bridge gaps and make everyone feel understood and cared for. My drive to help others stems directly from my heritage; it's a beautiful part of Filipino culture to genuinely love taking care of our elders, our families and simply anyone who needs a helping hand. This natural desire to support individuals is truly what motivates me in all that I do.

When I'm not busy making a difference in the lives of those I support, you can bet I'm finding ways to relax and enjoy myself. My favorite pastimes include diving into a good movie, enjoying some well-deserved retail therapy or best of all, spending quality time and having adventures out and about with my wonderful grandsons. And, as a Filipino, you know I'm always up for indulging in a little bit of delicious Filipino cooking!

I'm proud to be fluent in both Maori and English, which allows me to connect deeply and meaningfully with a wide range of individuals. For me, helping others isn't just a job; it's a core part of who I am. It's about building a strong, supportive community and being a reliable presence for families, friends and the public whenever they need guidance and support.

This inherent drive is why I love being a Support Worker so much. There's immense satisfaction in walking away at the end of each day, knowing that I've made a positive and tangible difference in someone's life. Outside of my fulfilling work, my hobbies keep me busy and engaged. I enjoy diving into books and manga, gathering friends for lively board and card games and expanding my horizons by picking up new words and phrases in different languages. Hey everyone! My name is Alvin and yes, that's Alvin, minus all of his chipmunks! I'm incredibly proud to be the General Manager here at Authentic Care.

While my role involves overseeing operations on a day to day basis, my heart still remains on the ground and I still continue to actively provide support. I've been a dedicated support worker for just about 10 years, gaining a wealth of diverse experiences working with a wide array of disabilities. My primary passion and where much of my experience lies, has been working with children, helping them navigate their world and achieve their full potential.

My approach to care is deeply influenced by my Indian heritage, where strong family bonds and the caring for elders are fundamental values. This cultural upbringing has instilled in me a profound appreciation for community support and a genuine commitment to nurturing and assisting others. It's this innate drive to help and uplift that fuels my work every single day.

For me, being a support worker is more than just a job; it's about building meaningful connections, fostering independence, and seeing the incredible growth and joy in the people we support.

My roots are deeply connected to my Aboriginal heritage, which has instilled in me a strong sense of community and a genuine desire to care for others.

Being a mum has truly shaped who I am today, nurturing a natural instinct to care and understand individual needs. This experience seamlessly translates into my role, where I find immense joy and purpose in helping people every day. I genuinely love what I do because I believe everyone deserves to live their fullest, most vibrant life.
