Accredited exercise physiologist Charlie Gordon from Exercise Therapies dropped in to join our Tuesday morning meeting at Little Shack Port Macquarie today. Even though Charlie was in holiday mode and in the middle of a road trip down from the Gold Coast to the south coast of NSW, Ian Bergman insisted on telling him about how important balance metrics are for falls prevention and how the balance testing and training program Charlie did at Bolton Clarke The Terraces was a "world first". And Raelee Pietrzak just happened to underscore what Ian said by pulling some low, medium to high graphs out of her bag to have on display. 📊☕🌞

This morning at Frankies Cafe & Catering in Port Macquarie, we took a moment to reflect on a recent success.

Our balance testing event at Monterey Camden Haven last week marked an important milestone, the first time anyone has paid for balance testing on the Balance Mat. It’s a true proof of concept that the Balance Mat can operate as a revenue-generating tool while delivering meaningful health insights for residents.

The session formed part of the Better Balance Initiative, delivered with accredited exercise physiologist Candice Eberhardt and data intern analyst Bipin Shrestha.

A great step forward for proactive care, and an exciting sign of what’s possible. 😊

Today our Balance Metrix team visited Monterey Camden Haven, an over-55s village, to complete balance testing with five residents.
Our data analyst intern Bipin Shrestha carried out the balance testing, before handing over to Accredited Exercise Physiologist Candice Eberhardt, who walked each resident through their results and recommended personalised exercises to improve strength, balance, mobility, and confidence.

Lavenia Russell, Wendy Newport, Brigitta Labann and David Wells had their balance tested today. 🦩 It was during a collaborative pop-up balance metrics - exercise physiology awareness session at Panthers Port Macquarie mounted by Hastings Physio and Health's Lesley Flanagan and Balance Metrix's Ian Bergman (who took the photos).

Organised by Hastings Physio and Health exercise physiology manager Erin Freeman, it followed a similar event that Erin and Ian collaborated on to celebrate World Clinical Exercise Physiology Day back on 23 September.

That was when we first found out about the balance testing and training sessions Erin has set up for community members here in Port Macquarie. We're happy to help the team promote them. 😁
