Rethinking Cholesterol
Most people think cholesterol is either good or bad, but there’s a lot more to the story.
When I review blood tests, I’m not just looking at your total cholesterol number. What really matters is the balance between your HDL (the “good” cholesterol) and your triglycerides.
Ideally, your HDL should be higher than your triglycerides.
When that balance shifts, it can be an early sign of insulin resistance, long before blood sugar issues or metabolic symptoms appear.
Functional blood test analysis helps us see these early patterns and understand how your metabolism, hormones, and cardiovascular system are working together.
Because your blood work isn’t just about what’s high or low, it’s about what your body is trying to tell us.
And when we listen closely, we can prevent problems before they start.
