🌬️Today we are raising awareness for World Asthma Day! This year’s theme is Smarter Oral Steroids.

Asthma affects millions of Australians, and it’s essential to recognise how we can better manage and treat it, especially when it comes to oral steroids. Smarter approaches in asthma treatment, including the use of oral steroids, can significantly improve outcomes and reduce the risk of unnecessary side effects.

Here’s how you can get involved:
• Check your inhaler technique to ensure you’re getting the most out of your medication.
• Talk to your GP about the right treatment plan, including when to use oral steroids and how to manage asthma triggers effectively.
• Understand your asthma triggers and avoid them to prevent flare-ups.

We are committed to supporting patients with asthma by providing ongoing care, guidance, and treatment options to help you breathe easier.

If you or someone you know has asthma, don’t hesitate to book an appointment to review your asthma management plan with the experienced GPs.

Together, let’s breathe easier! 💙

Book a Heart Health Check with your GP this Heart Week! ❤️

Never miss a BEAT by booking a Heart Health Check. It's a check-up with your GP to assess your risk of having a heart attack or stroke in the next five years and discuss steps you can take to lower your risk.

Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in Australia, but the good news is that many risk factors are preventable. Whether you’re at risk or simply looking to live a healthier lifestyle, Heart Week is the perfect time to start.

Here’s what you can do:
✅ Know your numbers: Blood pressure, cholesterol, and waist measurement.
✅ Get moving: 30 minutes of activity daily.
✅ Eat heart-healthy: Focus on fruits, veggies, whole grains, and healthy fats.
✅ Quit smoking: Significantly reduce your heart disease risk.
✅ Manage stress: Practice relaxation techniques to support heart health.

Book an appointment with your GP today to discuss your heart health, get a blood pressure check, and start working on a plan to improve your cardiovascular health.

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month.

Endometriosis affects 1 in 9 Australian women, yet it often goes undiagnosed for years. This condition can cause severe pelvic pain, heavy periods, fatigue, and fertility challenges, impacting daily life in more ways than one.

Why awareness matters:
💛 Symptoms can be dismissed or misdiagnosed, delaying treatment.
💛 Early diagnosis and management can improve quality of life.
💛 Raising awareness helps break the stigma and encourages better support.

If you're experiencing ongoing pelvic pain, painful periods, or other concerning symptoms, you are not alone. Your GP can help with diagnosis, treatment options, and symptom management.

This month, take a moment to learn, support, and advocate for better awareness and care. Book an appointment with your GP to discuss your symptoms today.

Protect your baby from RSV – government funded vaccine available now!👶

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a serious disease for newborn babies and is a leading cause of childhood hospitalisation.

Why get vaccinated during pregnancy?
•Provides passive immunity by passing protective antibodies to your baby before birth.
• Reduces the risk of severe infections, hospitalisation, and breathing difficulties.
• Helps protect newborns from RSV complications in their first months of life.

The RSV vaccine will be available to pregnant women between 28 and 36 weeks under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) if they have, or are eligible for, a Medicare card.

Infants under 8 months and high-risk children 8 to 24 months may be eligible for an RSV immunisation dose, with timing based on maternal vaccination status, risk factors, and the need for protection during peak RSV seasons.

For detailed eligibility criteria, consult your GP or visit https://bit.ly/3QmTKlK.
