What a wonderful show we had today on RPPFM 📻✨

A huge thank you to Nicole Caldo from KUBE Therapy Co for joining Tina and me in the studio today. It was so lovely hearing more about the incredible services KUBE Therapy Co provide to the community and the thoughtful strategies they use when working alongside families 💛

We also had a really important conversation around Functional Capacity Assessments, how detailed they can be, why they matter so much, and some of the possible changes that may be coming in the future. While there is still a lot we don’t fully know yet, it was great to openly discuss what families may need to be aware of and consider moving forward.

These conversations are so valuable because they help families feel informed, supported and connected 🤝

Thanks again Nicole for sharing your knowledge and insights with us today.

Tune in again next week from 1 till 2 on RPPFM for another great conversation 🎙️✨

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums and special people who give so much each and every day 💐💖

Today is for celebrating the love, care, strength and support that so many people give so freely to others. Whether you are a mum, stepmum, grandmother, carer, guardian, or someone who simply shows up with love and kindness, today is for you too 🌸

No matter how you celebrate, I hope your day is filled with love, appreciation, smiles and special moments 💕

Wishing everyone a beautiful and happy Mother’s Day 💖🌷

Important notice…

If your child is not on an NDIS PACE plan with allocated funding you WILL be getting a ‘check in’ phone call from the NDIS in the not too distant future.

This phone call IS a plan reassessment.

NDIS are slashing children’s plans through this process and taking parents and carers by surprise.

If you do receive a phone call ‘checking in’ let the NDIS know it is not a good time and ask for the request to be made via your email.

If you would like support, let me know and I can find someone to help you.

For any carers in the Frankston area looking for connection and support 💛

The monthly Pathways for Carers Walk is a lovely opportunity to meet other carers, enjoy a gentle stroll along the foreshore, and have a chat with people who understand the caring journey 🤝☀️

Run by Orwil Street Community House Inc, led by carers and supported by Frankston City Council, the walk takes place on the first Thursday of each month at 9:30am.

Carers meet on the boardwalk next to the Frankston Life Saving Club for a relaxed walk, followed by a free morning tea ☕ Often there is also a guest speaker sharing information about supports and services available to carers.

This group is for unpaid carers, not professional support workers, supporting someone living with disability, mental health challenges, or someone who is ageing and needs additional support.

What an awesome show today on The Unexpected Journey on RPP FM 🎙️✨

We were so lucky to be joined by Sue Baker and Pauline from We Rock the Spectrum Somerville 💛

Sue shared some wonderful supports available across the community, along with the exciting news that the accessible beach program will be back again next summer in Frankston 🌊☀️ Such an important initiative that opens up opportunities for so many people to enjoy our beautiful coastline.

Pauline gave us a great insight into the incredible programs they are running for families, from their sensory gym to preschool and community programs, and so much more. Spaces like this make such a difference, creating connection, inclusion, and joy 💙

A big thank you to Monique for being by my side over the past three weeks while Tina has been away. It’s been so lovely having you back in the studio 🎧

Next week, Tina returns and we’ll be chatting with Allison Dew to hear her story. I can’t wait 💫

🎙️ Big show today on The Unexpected Journey 💛

We’ve got a fantastic line-up with not one, but two special guests joining us in the studio!

We’ll be speaking with Sue Baker, Mayor of Frankston, chatting about the Accessible Beaches program and the incredible work being done to make our community more inclusive and welcoming for everyone 🌊♿

We’re also joined by Pauline from We Rock The Spectrum - Somerville, a truly special space that provides a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for children of all abilities to play, grow, and just be themselves 💙 From sensory equipment to inclusive programs, they are making such a difference for families in our community.

It’s going to be a great conversation filled with insight, connection, and real stories that matter.

Such a valuable evening at the Wallara family forum tonight 💛

A heartfelt thank you to Wallara Australia Ltd. for creating a space that was not only informative, but genuinely supportive and welcoming.

There was so much helpful information shared around assessments and some of the changes that have been talked about, giving families a clearer understanding of what’s ahead. Just as important was the opportunity to ask questions, have open conversations, and learn from one another’s experiences.

These kinds of forums matter. They bring people together, create connection, and remind us that we are not navigating this journey alone 🤝

Thank you again to everyone involved in making the night what it was.
