✨Jess & Tim✨

This beautiful couple welcomed their third bub, born super quick in the comfort of their own home.

The storm brewed all day and so did Jess’ labour. As the rain poured, her labour progressed gently, but quickly.

Right before baby arrived, siblings Flynn and Lyla jumped out of bed and quietly took a seat by the bath tub. Supported by their Dad and aunties, they got to witness their mum birth baby Maevie into the water with no fear - just pure joy.

It was absolute perfection.

Jess and Tim, thank you so very much for allowing me to guide you through your pregnancy, birth and postpartum. A massive congratulations to you both, Maevie is absolutely divine.

✨Brie & Kieran✨

Third babies. They play their own game!

Going overdue can really test your psychological endurance, and this gorgeous babe kept her mum guessing the whole way 🥰

Brie knew in her heart and mind that her baby was well. Sure enough, in the middle of the night, River decided to come when the world felt quiet enough for her to enter.

Big sis & bro, Evie and Oak waited excitedly and quietly, casually coming in and out of the lounge room, watching their mum with curiosity and fascination at what was unfolding.

As their newest little love was born into warm water and lifted into waiting hands, the room felt full of love and calmness. Brie and Kieran trusted the process, trusted each other, and trusted their baby.

Home. Water. Love.

✨Tess✨

A woman’s intuition speaks volumes.

Tess predicted that her labour and birth would happen at exactly 38+4 weeks, on a full moon. And sure enough it did!

During the light of day, Tess laboured away strongly, using the sling, different positions and the pool. It was an intense and powerful labour, calling on all the women in the room to help get her over the finish line.

Much to everyone’s surprise, Tess welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Atlas Ocean 🌊💙🩵

Tess, well done on achieving your beautiful home waterbirth!! Your little boy is so dreamy, and you are such an amazing mum to your two little babes.

Thank you for allowing me into your family and letting me be a part of your journey to baby Atlas 🥰

I am finishing up a touch early for 2025, so I thought it best to publish my Karley Finnigan Mums and Bubs Statistics, aka the KFMBS 😂

I am really proud of these statistics, although my numbers are very small, I like to think that I am making a difference to the families I work alongside. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to provide family-centred, safe care that is truly rewarding.

Thank you to all of the families who chose me to be their midwife, to the hospital staff that assisted my clients in achieving their birthing goals, and to my private midwife colleagues for supporting me every step of the way (you know who you are 😘).

Cannot wait to see what 2026 brings!

✨Sharnika & Jake✨

Sharns knew from day dot what she needed and wanted for her second baby. This baby needed a lot more womb time than her first, however Sharns and Jake instinctively knew that everything was ok, and that she would come when she was ready.

Just shy of 42 weeks, baby Zoaa calmly entered the world at home in water surrounded by her loved ones and support team.
Sharns and Jake have taken to their second postpartum with ease, tuning into their baby instead of tracking the mls/time/numbers. It’s quite freeing when you can just “be with babe”.

Sharns and Jake, you have done it your way, and it was so beautiful to watch you achieve your goals. Zoaa is absolute perfection, well done!

Thank you so much for trusting in me and choosing me to be your midwife. It’s been so much fun 🥰

There is something really beautiful and empowering about witnessing a woman come into her power and take control of her pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

Emma did just that!

Lots of chats about the evidence, mutual trust in each other a focus on Emma’s needs resulted in a chill pregnancy, with a beautiful spontaneous labour and birth.

Emma has entered her postpartum with confidence, and although going from 1 to 2 is not for the faint hearted, Em has completely understood the assignment!

We finished up our time today, with beautiful baby cuddles, laughs and a sense of a job well done 🥰

A massive congratulations to Emma and Mitch, your family is simply divine, it’s been an honour being your midwife.

This beautiful woman just let her maternal instincts and trust in her body’s ability to birth, to shine right through.

Calmly and gently she simmered away with her early labour, never questioning it, just surrendering to every step.

With the blood moon high in the sky and a thunderstorm to ignite this rite of passage, Nazia brought her chill little man into this world in the safety of water.
Her mother and husband gently whispering words of praise as he opened his eyes and took in his mother’s face.

Then off to bed the three of them went 🥰

Such an honour and privilege to witness. Thank you Nazia, Seliman and Shae for welcoming me into your home 🙏❤️

What a beautiful family you have created!

✨Georgia & Tom✨

What an absolute amazing birth to witness! Georgia was completely in her zone when I arrived and shortly after I got there her beautiful 4.3kg baby boy zoomed into this world!
After having some bleeding that was more than expected, a decision was jointly made to head off to see the team at the local hospital for a quick visit to ensure Georgia was remaining stable and safe. All of which was done with respect and positivity. We thank the team at Frankston Hospital and paramedics for making the experience smooth and woman centred. 🙏❤️

and , you 100% put in the groundwork for this home birth. Ensuring you had a good understanding of pelvic alignment, baby’s position and what you needed to do to bring your baby into this world in the comfort of your home.

You have adjusted amazingly to having two gorgeous boys, and have prioritised your health and wellbeing in this postpartum phase.

Congratulations and well done!!

✨Alice and Dave ✨

At 3am in the morning, after Alice’s epic home birth, her partner Dave was overcome with a need to put words down on paper about what he just witnessed.

And this is what was created:

We entered the headspace
Of our little birthing place
Our house became our womb
A haven warm and safe
with the halfblood moon
And a fire in the room
We worked hard together
And it felt like forever
We laboured with strength and persistence
gave way to resistance
And with a grand climax
We birthed our baby Max.

✨Jess & Marcus✨

I met Jess for a coffee one cold July morning last year, and she told me her birth story of Isla. It was unfortunately filled with disempowerment and trauma. Not just for Jess, but also for her partner Marcus.

We made plans early on to approach this pregnancy, birth and labour with a healthy balance of maternal instincts, choice and evidence based care. Jess was in the drivers seat, and I was along for an awesome ride!

As Jess approached the end of her pregnancy, her belief and confidence in herself only became stronger, and no one and nothing was standing in the way of her achieving the home birth of her dreams.

And that’s exactly what she did…

Surrounded by her most important people, Jess quite literally breathed her baby out into her arms, in one of the most serene births I have ever witnessed. Just in time for big sister Isla to wake up and meet beautiful baby Tahli!

Talk about being in midwife heaven!

Jess has entered into her postpartum with confidence, joy and peace that she has achieved her healing homebirth.

I’m so incredibly proud of both Jess and Marcus. They invested their time, money and faith into this process and most importantly into themselves.

Congratulations Jess and Marcus, I cannot thank you enough for letting me be your midwife, for inviting me into your family, and watching you reclaim your power.
