Meet Fortitude's new instructor: Natalie King.

Natalie’s interest in Pilates began after experiencing firsthand how Pilates helped her with her injuries. Studying to become diploma-qualified in both Mat and Studio Pilates with an emphasis on rehabilitation. “With my curiosity for the human body and helping people”, I have now gone on to further my studies in Exercise Physiology”. Heading into her 3rd year of Exercise Physiology to articulate into a Masters in Exercise Physiology and loves the way she can incorporate what she has learned with her Pilates knowledge. Natalie loves helping people work on the foundations to support their bodies. “As we now have longevity, I want to use anything possible to help facilitate that.” Pilates is also a never-ending rabbit hole of exploring new education to extend my knowledge to clients.

It's not about teaching all the ‘fancy stuff’ put out there on social media, it’s about working with you and your body and teaching you correctly

Natalie currently has limited availability in her small group Clinical Pilates classes at 6pm and 7pm on Mondays.

Fortitude Physiotherapy: what makes them special?

Fortitude Physiotherapy is a not your average physiotherapy and pilates studio. From the moment you arrive at the purpose built Langwarrin studio you will recognise a sense of belonging. Whether you are there to see Meghan for physiotherapy or to join in on one of Sam’s pilates classes you will be welcomed with a smile and you will feel at ease - knowing you have found what you have been looking for.

Experienced Physiotherapist Meghan Mayne completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Latrobe University in 2007. Since that time she has worked with various sporting organisations including Gymnastics Victoria, South East Australian Women’s Basketball League (SEAWBL), VFL, and Frankston District Netball Association. In 2015 Meghan attended The University of Melbourne where she completed a post graduate certificate in Women’s Health Physiotherapy with a special interest in Pelvic Floor assessment and treatment. She is passionate about empowering women in all stages of life, whether it be during pregnancy, following childbirth or during/after menopause.

Meghan has endured her own battles with injury and pain, and therefore has a deep understanding of the emotional connection to the physical injury. It is for this reason that Meghan called the practice “Fortitude Physiotherapy” as it is only after being faced with adversity that we can truely appreciate and understand our own courage and resilience.

Sam Goodchild is a bright young pilates instructor who has completed training through Polestar Pilates Australia. At Fortitude Physiotherapy & Clinical Pilates Sam uses specialised Pilates equipment including the spring loaded reformer, trapeze table, wundachair, ball, roller and mats. Sam has a bubbly personality that shines through her pilates practice and is very precise in her teaching. She strongly believes that Pilates should be fun, yet challenging, balanced and mindful. Sam will focus on helping you increase your strength and flexibility, find balance and an understanding of your body to gain more efficient movement for life.
