❤️ World Heart Day – Every Beat Matters ❤️
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the world’s number one killer, causing over 20.5 million deaths every year. Of these, 85% are due to heart attacks and strokes, with the greatest impact felt in low- and middle-income countries.
👉 Did you know your heart is about the size of your fist, the strongest muscle in your body, and will beat more than 2.5 billion times if you live to 70? While it’s built to be strong, habits like smoking, poor diet, lack of exercise, diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure can all make your heart vulnerable.
But here’s the good news: up to 80% of CVD cases can be prevented with simple lifestyle changes, like moving your body for just 30 minutes each day, eating a balanced diet, and keeping up with regular check-ups.
This World Heart Day, we’re reminding everyone that every heartbeat matters. Take care of yours and don’t miss a beat. 💓
