Today is World Sleep Day, a global awareness day focused on the importance of healthy sleep.

Sleep plays a vital role in overall health, supporting brain function, mood, immunity and heart health. Despite this, many people regularly experience poor sleep or don’t get enough rest.

Adults should aim for 7–9 hours of sleep each night to support optimal health and wellbeing.

If ongoing sleep problems are affecting your daily life, consider speaking with your GP.

😴 Health Fact: Sleep Matters

Most adults need 7–9 hours of sleep each night to support overall health and wellbeing.

Sleep is when your body resets and repairs. Getting enough quality sleep helps support:
🧠 Memory and concentration🛡️ A strong immune system😊 Mood and emotional wellbeing❤️ Heart health and blood pressure

If you’re regularly feeling tired, struggling to fall asleep, or waking up throughout the night, it may be worth discussing with your GP.

Prioritising sleep is one of the simplest ways to support your long-term health.

👂💙 World Hearing Day | 3 March 2026

This year’s theme, “From communities to classrooms: hearing care for all children,” reminds us how vital hearing is at every stage of a child’s development.

Hearing supports speech and language, learning, social connection and emotional wellbeing. When hearing difficulties go unnoticed or untreated, the impact can extend far beyond the ears, affecting confidence, communication and participation at school and in everyday life.

Supporting children’s hearing is a shared responsibility between families, health professionals, educators and the wider community. Early awareness leads to early action.

🎧 Free Parent WebinarHelping Parents Understand Children’s Hearing and Hearing Checks🗓 Tuesday 3 March | 1:30–2:00pmHosted by Lia Traves, President of Audiology Australia

Topics include:• Why hearing is so important for children• Signs to look out for at different ages• Common childhood hearing issues• How and where hearing checks can be done

Change starts with conversation. Let’s get talking and challenge the stigma.

Your heart shows up for you every second of every day, even when you’re resting, working, laughing or sleeping. ❤️

The little things you do consistently matter more than the big things you do occasionally. A short walk, a balanced meal, managing stress, booking that overdue check-up, it all adds up.

• Persistent or worsening pain
• Ongoing fatigue without clear reason
• Changes in skin, moles, or new lumps
• Recurrent infections or symptoms that keep returning
• Or simply a feeling that something isn’t right

Early assessment can help detect underlying conditions, provide reassurance, and prevent small issues from becoming bigger ones.

If you’re unsure, it’s always okay to check.

📞 Our team is here to support your health at every stage. Book online or call us on 03 9789 5966.

National Lunchbox Week (9–15 February) 🍎🥪

National Lunchbox Week is an initiative of Nutrition Australia, created to inspire Australian families to build enjoyable, nourishing and pressure-free lunchboxes. 💛

This week celebrates the lunchbox as a reflection of diversity, enjoyment and nourishment, while reminding families that supporting positive lunchbox experiences helps children’s wellbeing and builds a healthy relationship with food.

National Lunchbox Week supports families, schools and early learning settings by:
• Promoting positive lunchbox experiences
• Keeping lunchbox packing simple
• Reassuring parents and carers
• Supporting budget-friendly options
• Encouraging kids to get involved

📅 Held at the start of Term 1, it provides timely guidance as families return to daily routines and helps schools and educators share inclusive lunchbox messages within their communities.
