MYTH BUSTER: A regulated nervous system isn’t “calm all the time”.

(Tbh, I thought that was where I'd end - calm and crusiey all the time when I was healed! - but was rudely awaken to the fact that I still had a human body and still experienced "signals" HAHA).

A regulated nervous system is actually one that can **move through stress responses** (fight/flight, and even freeze when you’re low or grieving) and then *return* back to your “just right” state.

You’re still human. 🧠

You’ll still feel sensations in your body, thoughts in your mind, emotions moving through you… the goal isn’t to never feel those things — it’s to not get stuck there.

In this week's episode I break down what regulation really means: building your capacity to come back to calm, expanding your window of tolerance, and responding to stress more appropriately over time.

I also break down why you can be “high performing” and dysregulated. If you can’t drop into deep rest, switch off during breaks, or if your mind is buzzing even when you’re trying to relax, that’s a sign your system is still on...And if continued in this fashion, WILL lead to body burnout.

This was something one of our clients said to me, in their first consult. It’s crazy how often we hear this when we first meet up with people. They’ve gone to the GP. 🩺

They’ve tried multiple specialists. They’ve tried some meds or done some tests. They’ve maybe even tried some other natural practitioners.

They either feel no better, a little better, or sometimes even worse. When this happens, the root cause has not yet been found. There is ALWAYS a root cause. You just have to keep on digging. We love digging!

I’d be consistent with food, supplements, routines — the whole “good client” thing — and I’d get a little improvement… then a new symptom would pop up. 😮‍💨

Fatigue would ease, then my gut would flare.
My gut would settle, then anxiety would spike.
And I’d start questioning myself again.

Digital clutter is nervous system clutter… because your phone is basically your operating system now.

In this chat with Heather , we go into why so many of us feel digitally overwhelmed - hundreds of apps, constant notifications, chaotic camera rolls, and random subscriptions quietly draining your resources in the background.

And then when you actually need something, it takes longer to find the file than it does to create the post. 📱 That’s not a “you problem”… that’s a system problem.

In today's workshop, we are joined by one of our dear friends and colleagues, breathwork practitioner Simon Hamilton .mind.body.breath. This will be an Interactive session that will involve guided breathing techniques to help our self-healing clients develop awareness and understanding of their inner sensations. Best experienced with headphones in a space where you won’t be interrupted, ideally with a space to lie down.

About Simon Hamilton:

Simon is a trauma-informed breathwork and mindfulness facilitator. He has completed over 600 hours of professional training in mindfulness and breathwork for trauma recovery, accredited by the Australian Breathwork Association. 🧠 His approach focuses on nervous system regulation, interoceptive awareness, and creating safe, supportive environments that complement personal development and well-being.
