We provide Respite for Children with Disabilities, 6-12 years old or similar ages. Bestlife Respite Care has respite for children with disabilities in a safe and fun environment. We have fun packed weekend camps, they enjoy the beach, the bush, many local outings and activities like Roller Skating, Tenpin Bowling, Pony Rides. Children also learn to cook, bake, and other daily tasks to become indep

WANTED WEEKEND SUPPORT WORKER - Permanent Part-Time
LAUNCESTON & UNDERWOOD
Friday, Saturdays and Sundays - hours between 7am – 8pm
Bestlife Respite Care is an initiative to provide short term accommodation for 6–12 year old (or similar ages) children with disabilities, within Tasmania. Our focus is providing children with a fun environment that is both nurturing and safe while enjoying time away from their carer. This is an alternative homestay experience, to institutional care. Our aim is to provide quality care to encourage children and youth to try fun activities that would build both confidence and self-esteem. Additionally, we encourage them to form friendships that would go beyond the boundaries of the centre through team activities.
WE REQUIRE THAT THE PROSPECTIVE APPLICANT would have the following attributes;
• A youthful, vibrant, fun & outgoing personality.
• Is physically active as the job can be physically and emotionally demanding as some of the children have challenging behaviours.
• Has a heart for the welfare of children and a passion to work with children.
• Previous experience working with disabled children.
• We also recognise prior learning through work or personal experience.
• Need to be computer literate
• Management or Teaching background is advantageous

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Current Working with Vulnerable Persons/Childrens check/registration
• Current National Police Check
• Current Tasmanian Drivers Licence
• First Aid
• Covid Vaccinated
• Assist Clients with Medication (or willing to obtain)
• NDIS Orientation Module Certification (can be obtained before starting)
• 2+ Years experience working with people/children with disabilities

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

• Cert IV in Disabilities

LAUNCESTON
X 2 days per week (flexible days as per business requirements)
7 hours per day (flexible hours within 9am - 5pm period)

Bestlife Respite Care is an initiative to provide short term accommodation for 6–12 year old children with disabilities, within Tasmania. Our focus is providing children and youth with a fun environment that is both nurturing and safe while enjoying time away from their carer.
This role is purely administrative using a wide range of applications, software and online platforms. You will be required to hit the ground running and have an extensive and varied experience in a wide range of administrative tasks. You will report directly to the Managing Director, who will assign daily tasks. This role is autonomous with little supervision, you will need the initiative and skills to prioritise your own workload to meet management expectations. Your key performance indicators will be the results from your work which would be derived from the tasks assigned by the Managing Director and to meet Managing Director expectations as pertaining to this position description.
WE REQUIRE THAT THE PROSPECTIVE APPLICANT would have the following attributes;
• Extensive experience in administration, and all round office procedures
• Extensive background in social media advertising and marketing
• Extensive experience in using MS Office Suite
• Have the ability to create MS Word docs, and Excel spreadsheets and populate
• Understanding of online platforms and registrations, NDIS, ATO, Superannuation
• Experience in compiling information from evaluations and collating the information into readable reports and then reporting to senior management with the findings
• Ability to create reports, letters and emails in MS Office suite
• Dictation and transference of information into readable letters or reports.
• Prepare and file IAS and BAS reports to ATO
• Prepare and enter receipts, invoices, reimbursements to reconcile Xero
• Prepare documents and update registers for weekend respites
• Process and report Reportable Incidents to Managing Director within 12 hour period
• Prepare documents for staff training, staff meetings and management meetings
• Organise staff and management training venue and materials
• Timely posting of mail and registering of outgoing mail into register
• Update company policies and procedures as necessary

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Current Working with Vulnerable Persons/Childrens check/registration
• Current National Police Check
• First Aid (or willing to obtain)
• Experience with the NDIS
• Experience in a disability care setting
• Extensive experience in business administration and systems
• Compliance experience
• Bookkeeping experience
• Have Intermediate to advance computer literate skills
• Intermediate experience in Xero Accounting

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
• Cert IV in Disabilities
• Qualification in Business
