Tasmanian Kidney Community

Tasmanian Kidney Community A place for all renal patients and their family and friends to share information on upcoming events and to link the various support groups around Tasmania.

This page has been set up by kidney disease patients to support kidney disease patients around Tasmania. We are here to post information on local support group meetings, kidney events and public forums. We want to ensure that no one feels that they are alone with their disease. Please note that while we are not a fundraising page, Kidney Health Australia is always needing more donations. Head over to www.kidney.org.au and give them a few bucks.

As of this Friday (12 April 2024), you no longer need to register your positive COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) results with Public Health.

👉 If you test positive on a RAT test, you will still be able to find information about your diagnosis and how to access care from services such as COVID@homeplus on the Department of Health website.

If you are at risk of serious illness, you are encouraged to have a plan with your GP regarding testing and treatment.

Tasmanians should also continue to practice simple behaviours to keep safe from respiratory illnesses as we head into winter.

💉 Be up to date with your COVID-19 and annual flu vaccinations.

🏠 Stay home if you have any cold or flu-like symptoms and remain at home until your symptoms have resolved.

🤧 Cover coughs and sneezes and keep your hands clean by washing with soap and water, or by using alcohol-based hand sanitiser.

Public Health Services will continue to monitor trends in acute respiratory infections in the community from a range of sources, with a summary to be published weekly on the Department website.

Tasmanians are encouraged to keep informed about trends in acute respiratory infections (ARI) circulating in the community, with new reporting changes to come into this Friday, 12 April 2024.
