Neck and shoulder pain is one of the most common things I see in clinic.
And while massage can absolutely help release tension, improve movement and calm the nervous system, the daily habits between appointments matter too.
A few simple rituals that can support your neck and shoulders:
– move gently before stretching
– unclench your jaw
– breathe into your ribs, not just your chest
– take small movement breaks
– strengthen your upper back
– use heat when your body feels guarded
– notice what stress is asking your body to hold
It doesn’t have to be complicated.
Sometimes the most supportive thing you can do is pause, soften, move and bring awareness back into your body.
If your neck or shoulder pain is ongoing, sharp, worsening, or comes with numbness, tingling, weakness or headaches, it’s worth getting properly assessed.
