On this day, March 9th in 1936, our Param Guru Swami Sri Yukteswar entered Mahasamadhi.
Disciple of Lahiri Mahasaya; Guru of Sri Yogananda. Swami Sri Yukteswar is revered as a Jnanavatar; “Incarnation of Wisdom”.
Swami Sri Yukteswar would console students:
“Forget the past. The vanished lives of all men are dark with many shames. Human conduct is ever unreliable until man is anchored in the Divine. Everything in future will improve if you are making a spiritual effort now”. (Autobiography of a Yogi).
Paramahansa Yogananda writes:
“Sri Yukteswar fitted the Vedic definition of a man of God: ‘Softer than the flower, where kindness is concerned; stronger than the thunder, where principles are at stake’…His feet were firm on the earth, his head in the haven of heaven.
Each day with him was a new experience in joy, peace, and wisdom…Quietly sitting beside him, I would feel his bounty pouring peacefully over my being”. (Autobiography of a Yogi).
