Did you know that individuals with persistent pelvic pain do better if they are treated by a multi-disciplinary team?! That's why we strongly believe in an approach that's individually tailored and includes those professionals best suited to your care. Our team meets on a weekly basis to discuss and develop the best treatment plan for you.

Our team includes Gynaecologist-Obstetricians Dr Stephen Bradford and Dr Naomi Saunder, Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist Jane Barker and Clinical Psychologist Dr Philippa Cannan.

Welcome to the Hobart Pelvic Pain Group! Did you know, that 1 in 5 women and 1 in 12 men experience pelvic pain?! Unfortunately some of these people go on to develop persistent pelvic pain syndromes. These conditions have an impact on peoples quality of life, ability to have s*x and work. We are a group of multi-disciplinary health professionals that have interest and expertise in treating pelvic pain conditions such as endometriosis, overactive pelvic floor, dysmenorrhea (painful periods), interstitial cystitis, pain and difficultly upon urination, vulvodynia (pain around the outside of the va**na), and vaginismus (pain upon s*x) to just name a few.

Our treatments include, physiotherapy, psychological therapy, surgery and medication - including botox to the pelvic floor.

We created this page to educate and promote awareness of this under-recognised and poorly managed area of health.
