Dr. Shawkat has over 23 years of medical experience and holds special training in skin cancer surgery, including:

Conducting full skin checks, spot checks, and ongoing skin cancer surveillance

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Shaila Jahan a female GP to Optimal Health Medical Centre Leppington

Dr. Jahan completed her medical degree in Bangladesh and began her medical career in Australia, gaining experience as a JMO in WA and NSW hospitals. She earned her Fellowship in General Practice in 2022 and has since been dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care.

With a passion for women’s and children’s health, mental health, preventive care, and chronic disease management, Dr. Jahan is committed to supporting patients of all ages on their healthcare journey.

She is fluent in Bengali and English, ensuring effective communication with a diverse range of patients.

Ahmet brings a wealth of experience, having worked across public and private sectors, supporting clients with diverse mental health, neurodevelopmental, and behavioural needs across all age groups. His approach is person-centred, compassionate, and evidence-based, offering therapies.

Ahmet speaks English and Turkish fluently, and when he’s not working, he enjoys soccer, hiking, and travelling.
