Did You know that data indicates that men are not as proactive in their health care? We have unfortunately found this to be true - We made a health check offer for men during November, but no-one has taken it up. An overview of how society values men, would indicate that in general men are expendable. Maybe we have internalised this and therefore we don't value our health. If we are going to give the best of ourselves for the benefit of society as a whole, then ensuring that we are fit enough to face the challenges is a first step. Do it for those who depend on You, if not for yourself.

Did You know that November is an international focus on Men's Health? Movember is here to highlight areas of concern for all men and their communities. Men are vastly over represented in su***de 75%. Workplace fatalities are 96% men and Prostate and Testicular cancers are significantly more common than you might think Nearly 29,000 cases are expected in 2025. The Australian Government estimates that there will be 20,336 new cases of Breast Cancer in 2025, 1% will be males.

How to Get Serious about your body composition goals. Prepare all your meals from scratch and weigh each meal. In this way you can track exactly what you are eating. Daily am weigh in will let you see if the food intake is moving you to your goal of muscle gain or fat loss. Those are really the only options if you want to reach better health. Higher muscle mass is a very good health and longevity predictor and low body fat keeps insulin sensitivity up. The body is very honest and logical. It will accurately account for our inputs and will show us exactly what the effect of those inputs is. Sadly we can't trick the body, only ourselves.

Which is best? Seed and plant oils or animal fats? Saturated fats in coconut oil reduced LDL in a study published in the British Medical Journal, contrary to expectations. Saturated fats are more stable and don't oxidise as unsaturated oils will. This makes saturated oils safer in the body. Once oils oxidise, they become damaging when consumed. Limiting oil and fat consumption is desirable for most of us, because we don't move enough for the body to need to use fat for fuel. In rat and mice experiments they are commonly fattened on fats not carbohydrates, although any food eaten in excess to needs will tend to result in excess energy being stored as body fat.

Did You know that adjusting the bones of the foot can relieve foot pain? There are 27 bones in the foot have a very specific movement pattern during walking or running. If the the bones in the mid foot cannot slide and glide against each other then pain will likely result.
