With the holiday season about to commence, many workers will be working in a hybrid environment which may be in an unergonomic friendly set-up.

Before your workers head off for their working holiday, we suggest employers provide them with some tips on how to set up their work area as safe as possible or book in our Ergonomic Specialist for a virtual assessment.

Our workplace ergonomics team enjoy the challenge of coming up with solutions to prevent injuries in unique surrounds such as a worker working out of a beach house! It's interesting to discover the items around the property that can be used to ensure the worker is comfortable and safe. Thus resulting in a happy worker with no injury and an employer not having a workers compensation claim on their books.

A worker under the influence of alcohol and or drugs can de detrimental in the workplace. A report on The Burden of Alcohol Drinking on Co-workers in the Australian Workplace (Dale, C. & Livingston, M 2010)* found 1 in 10 workers said they had been affected by a co-worker's use of alcohol.

Alongside being frustrating for the affected worker to perform their role, having to cover their co-worker's shift or worse be involved in the accident, it is an additional headache for the business to manage.
