Such an amazing opportunity to complete this training.
Its such a passion for me to offer the most effective and proven strategies and support to empower and aid healing for trauma survivors.

We’ve just completed a powerful Trauma-Informed Practice Weekend at Heal For Life, facilitated by Liz Mullinar, alongside a group of dedicated medical practitioners.

It was a deeply meaningful few days of learning, reflection, and connection — exploring how trauma impacts the brain, body, and relationships, and how we can respond with greater awareness, safety, and compassion in clinical settings.

What stood out most was the willingness of practitioners to step beyond theory and engage with the human experience of trauma — recognising that healing is not just about treatment, but about connection.

We are so grateful to everyone who participated with openness and courage.

This is how change happens — when knowledge meets empathy.

If you’re interested in learning more about trauma-informed practice or attending a future program, we’d love to hear from you.

After nearly 4 amazing years working for MGA, I am excited to announce that I am starting my own business, called Restore Me Counselling. For my Current Clients, location, costs and your current Counselling Plan will continue with no change.

For anyone exploring Counselling, have a look at my website www.restoremecounselling.com.au to see if I might be a good fit for you. I offer a free 15 minute phone call consultation, so that you can ask any questions. This is where there is no such thing as a silly question. Working with someone on their counselling journey is such a privilege and its important for me that you receive the best support, that you are heard and feel as comfortable and as at ease as possible.

Matt from MGA and I will be joining together to run some Forest Therapy Events, and keep your eyes out for some training and groups that we are exploring in the future.

The taboo of loneliness! I have been pondering this recently. The shame that people feel when they share they are lonely, the often uncomfortable feelings others have when they hear someone else share with them that they are lonely. How quick people are to offer others solutions.

It's somehow seen as a weakness. Like somehow you are not strong enough.

I just want to encourage anyone that is struggling with loneliness that it says something truly special about you.
It could says you loved deeply and to lose that has left a big hole. What a beautiful soul you are to love so much and so wholeheartedly that the loss of that can never be quickly washed over.
It could say say that you yearn for deeper connections with others and what a gift that will be to the people who you will get to connect with. It could say that I long to be really seen and to really see others
it could say I made some mistakes and have some regrets and I'm sad about them. What a place of growth that is.
It could say there is some deep hurt and betrayal that I need to heal from and what a journey that could be.

None of this is easy. Its incredibly painful. But in all of this see that your heart is not hardened. We don't talk much about hearts oftenn but to have a soft heart in a hard world says something incredibly special about you.

Listen to your heart, be discerning in who you share with and recognise there is no shame in loneliness. Honor your soft and open heart today💗

We throw out food that we can no longer eat, clothes we no longer like, exercise equipment we no longer use...

Yet we allow beliefs/thoughts that others have put on us or we have taken on occupy our mind without thought to whether or not they are serving us well.

So important for these to be challenged, re looked at and if needed thrown away.

I love a beautiful garden...all the diffrent shades of green with beautiful natural plants and bright colours. It's a treat for every sense. But unlike most of my MGA colleagues, I have no gardening skills.

Recently a friend who is an avid gardener came to my home. I was pointing out something in my garden and proudly saying how beautiful it was even if I had no idea where it came from!! She laughed kindly and said "that's because it's a w**d". It took me a while to accept it as I pointed out its beauty and what it added to my garden.

Today as I accepted it was a w**d and went about removing it from my garden,I couldn't help draw the analogy with people. It's not so easy to identify those who will not be healthy to our lives. Like the w**ds they often appear Beautiful and they carry things which add to our lives. It's not until they are more entrenched in our lives does the unhealthy and sometimes toxic and highly damaging come out.

In my work with people coming out of abusive or damaging relationships, I am often struck by what warm, kind, open, caring and amazing people they are. I love the journey of helping them to not only identify what they have been through, recover and strengthen but to most importantly shine, see their value and live their best lives.

There are many quiet hero's in my Counselling rooms and I honor them today .
