🎶 Our residents were treated to a fantastic performance by the Victoria Police Pipe Band recently. Five talented band members filled the Community Centre with a medley of favourites including the traditional police marching band music, Amazing Grace and even a rendition of Waltzing Matilda.

Did you know the Band has been part of Victoria’s cultural fabric for nearly 90 years? Formed in 1936 with support from the McPherson family, the pipers and drummers still proudly wear the red and blue McPherson tartan today.

The Band is a familiar presence across the state, performing at MOOMBA, ANZAC Day services, police graduations, and commemorations, as well as representing Australia on the world stage. In fact, they’ve regularly placed in the top three at the World Pipe Band Championships.

It was an honour to welcome such an iconic group into our community. Events like this are just another reason why life at Tudor Village is so full of colour, connection and joy.

🍷🦘 Wine, wildlife & wonderful company. On Saturday 30th August, our Tudor Village residents bundled up against the winter chill and set off for the Wine & Wildlife Festival at Healesville Sanctuary. It was a day filled with tastings from some of the Yarra Valley’s finest wineries, breweries and distilleries, not to mention delicious food from local producers.

Between sips and bites, residents enjoyed live music, entertainment, and the chance to wander through the Sanctuary, spotting the incredible animals who call it home.

Our very own Tudor Village bus made the trip smooth and easy, ensuring everyone could simply relax and enjoy the outing. This special day out was organised by our Men’s Shed group, just one of the many social activities and adventures that make life at Tudor Village so rewarding.

🎂💯 A very special milestone was recently celebrated at Tudor Village, our much-loved resident Edna Parker turned 100 on September 2!

Edna has called Tudor Village home for more than 25 years, moving here after a lifetime in the Lilydale area. Still living independently, she’s been part of our community since the early days and has loved watching the village grow around her.

Her birthday was marked in true Edna style, with a week of celebrations including morning tea at the Village, a family lunch at Dorset Gardens, and afternoon tea with the Country Women’s Association. Surrounded by three children, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and many friends, it was a celebration full of love and laughter.

We’re so proud to celebrate this milestone with Edna, and grateful she’s part of our Tudor Village family here in the Yarra Valley. 💐
