What should I eat? Is this healthy for me? What’s the best way to eat?

Q’s I get alllll the time, as a nutritionist.
Here’s the truth - no one is keeping secrets from you. There is no one magic, holy grail way to eat.
The best way to eat is in a way that feels good for you, takes up the least amount of brain space, and is sustainable.

Healthy eating is more than nutrition.
It’s satisfaction.
It’s convenience.
It’s imperfect.
It’s nourishing, both for the body and for the soul.
It’s social.
It’s celebratory.
Encompassing your mental, physical, social, emotional wellbeing and aligning with your values!

Want to lose weight but can’t stop bingeing? 👇🏼

Here are the exact steps I did take and would take again, 1000 x over…

👉🏼Stop focusing on weight loss, or weight in general.
👉🏼Also stop focusing on bingeing. What you focus on expands. Bingeing is a symptom, not THE problem to be solved.
👉🏼Build awareness around myself & my patterns. Awareness, acceptance, action is my 3 step process to creating lasting change.
👉🏼Stop searching for self-control, willpower & discipline. It doesn’t work.
👉🏼Reconnect and learn my bodies cues.
👉🏼Quit the unhelpful, judgemental self-talk.
👉🏼Do a big life cull to move me out of the comparison trap & into feelings of safety, peace and positivity. Your environment dictates a LOT.
👉🏼Deep dive into intuitive eating and familiarise myself with some of the principles. 10 step framework to support a healthy relationship with food, body and self.
👉🏼Get support to fast track my way there. This was an absolute game changer for me and moved the needle forward, and saw results.

👉🏼Despite what they ‘promise’ you, despite what you’ve been told or what once worked before, and despite the desperation and hope you are holding onto.

Ironically, I was doing alllll these things when I was stuck in the binge-restrict cycle 🤪 (because they TRIGGER inevitable bingeing!).

Don’t make the mistake I did of wasting years, thinking I’d figure it out on my own and willpower myself into regaining control of food. It doesn’t work!
