I love that we have a World Mental Health Day. 🥰
It reminds us of how important our mental health is and encourages us to do something about it.
If your mental health has been suffering and you keep pushing it to the bottom of your priority list….it’s time to put it on top.

You matter 💜

R U Ok? Are you really ok? Or are you just saying you’re ok? It’s ok to say….actually no, I’m not ok.
If you check in with someone who says they’re ok, but you don’t think they’re really ok, here’s some suggestions.
Sometimes people just don’t want to burden others with their problems….if you care, let them know you care and that it’s not a burden to listen and help a friend.

If you’re not ok, find someone, friend family or professional, to open up to. You never know how much it might help. 💜💜

This is great! A much clearer way of explaining it than I normally do 😂❤️
Focus on what we can control = less stress and frustration and more positive thoughts and actions ……. See how it works for you ❤️❤️

Too often, our attention is given to things that are out of our control. Whether we are caught up in another's actions, the impact of a negative potential diagnosis, or uncertain about the prospects of our travel plans in the current circumstances, these events fall completely out of our control. Yet, they are the ones we are most often concerned with.

The Circles of Control Model (Covey, 1989) depicted above shows the three different areas we pay attention to. This model was initially created to distinguish between proactive people (those who focus on what they can do and can influence) and reactive people (those who focus on things beyond their control).

A proactive focus, or focus on the circle of control, will enable you to gain more autonomy over your life. By focusing on things in your control, you choose to dedicate your energy to something you can change and improve. The more focus you put on the circle of control, the bigger it grows and the less room there is for focus on things that are out of your control.

The circle of influence falls between the circle of control and the circle of concern and mainly refers to things that we have some control over and are relevant to us. For example, the behavior of a close friend is not necessarily in your direct control, but you have the power to influence their behavior by supporting and advising your friend. This circle inevitably takes up space in your attention bank. However, it should also not dominate your energy.

The circle of concern possesses things entirely out of our control, so we can only react to these events. Your time and energy will be wasted reacting to issues that you cannot control, making you feel helpless and powerless.

If you noticed that you sometimes pay too much attention to the events in the circle of concern, try to directly engage with the items in the circle of control. The more energy that is directed to the things you are in charge of, the more likely your life will align with your internalized goals and values.

Do you agree that most of your attention should be given to the circle of control? Let us know in the comments below!

The power of this photograph - random strangers holding onto a man attempting to take his own life.
Gripping him and tying him with ropes until emergency services arrive.
The most powerful display of HUMAN COMPASSION.

The main objective of FFFN is to promote exactly this - both towards oneself and towards others.

It’s ok not to be ok and it’s always ok to reach out for help.
Hang in there Victoria, we’ve been through worse, we can get through this, especially together ❤️❤️

Following this morning’s announcement of further COVID-19 restrictions for Victoria, we want to remind everyone that mental health support is available 24/7. After enjoying more freedom as part of COVID-normal life over the past few months, it’s natural to feel unsettled by the reintroduction of lockdown restrictions.

It is normal to feel anxious, stressed or overwhelmed during these challenging times, and it can help to talk things through. You don't need to be in crisis to seek support – the Coronavirus Mental Wellbeing Support Service is available to everyone, no matter your situation. Our trained counsellors are ready right now to support you.

Visit the Coronavirus Mental Wellbeing Support Service at bb.org.au/3oRG6Zh, or call 1800 512 348 to get support now.
