Becoming a mother sparked a sequence of quiet, yet powerful shifts — from who I was,
to who I long to become.
My children are the only force
that have stirred something lasting and real within me.
Confrontingly, they hold up a mirror-reflecting the pain I carry, the patterns I repeat, and the parts of me I never meant to pass on.
They make me pause.
They make me soften.
They make me see … me.
Because of them, I choose differently.
I move more consciously.
I try — and try again — to do better.
My sons are my why.
The reason I stretch.
The reason I rise.
The reason I will never stop becoming.
With out a doubt, Motherhood has been my greatest (and at times rude) awakening — a gift of self discovery, where my sons are the teachers, and I am forever their student.
