Youth Va**ng Prevention in the Yarra Ranges.

Together, we’re equipping the next generation with the knowledge and confidence to make informed, healthy choices.

With va**ng use steadily rising, especially amongst young people, it’s more important than ever to shine a light on its health impacts.

And our Va**ng Prevention project with local schools is doing just that. After learning about the risks of va**ng, how marketing tactics target young people, and strategies to say no, students can then share their knowledge with their peers and the broader community.

An exciting upgrade is coming to the Belgrave Community Hub! 🤩

We’re thrilled to announce that installation will soon begin on a $150,000 upgrade to our Belgrave site, funded through the Yarra Ranges Council Preparing Australian Communities Fund.

This significant enhancement will ensure our site can remain operational during blackouts and provide critical support to the community during prolonged power outages.

A key feature of this upgrade is the installation of a “Generator Ready” port in the parking compound. This innovation will allow the site to run indefinitely on a diesel generator, ensuring uninterrupted service during extended outages like those experienced during the severe storms a few years ago.

This upgrade will position the Belgrave Hub as a vital community space during natural disasters and local emergencies.

Residents will be able to:
🔸 Charge their devices
🔸 Take a shower
🔸 Seek refuge in a safe and supportive environment

We’re proud to take this step in strengthening our resilience and readiness to serve the community when it’s needed most. 💪🦺💛

The AccessHC Community Advisory Committee is a subcommittee of the AccessHC Board. The merger between AccessHC and Inspiro has created an opportunity for three new members from the Yarra Ranges community to join the committee and support community engagement and consumer participation for our combined organisation.

They spent the morning chatting with the community about Inspiro's services and how we can expand opportunities for people with disabilities in the Yarra Ranges.

The Access and Inclusion Expo is happening this Saturday, 18 January!

Come along to explore services, resources, and inclusive programs that help individuals with disabilities engage in sport, recreation, and community activities. It’s a great opportunity to meet people, try new activities, and find out what’s available in the Yarra Ranges including basketball, netball, soccer, dance and more.

At 2pm we will also officially open the new Accessible Changing Places toilet at Pinks Reserve Stadium. The new facility includes an automated height-adjustable change table, a ceiling track hoist system, and a peninsula toilet ensuring everyone can use the space comfortably.

📍 Where: Kilsyth Sports Centre, 115 Liverpool Road, Kilsyth

A big THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to the 2024 Inspiro Healthy Mums Healthy Babies Christmas Appeal. 🎄⭐👶💛

Vicki and Anna from the Healthy Mums Healthy Babies team were overwhelmed and delighted by the generosity shown to vulnerable families in our community.

We received an enormous amount of donations of both gifts and non-perishables to assist our clients over the festive season. A special shout to out to the families at Mayfield Early Education - Mooroolbark for their incredible contribution to the appeal!

All these donations have been packaged into hampers, and will be delivered to local families over the coming days to help make their Christmas extra special.

Thank you once again to the wonderful Yarra Ranges community for contributing to this special cause!

Today marks the end of 16 Days of Activism, a global initiative that aims to raise awareness and inspire individuals, communities, and organisations to address gender inequalities.

We know that almost 1 in 4 women and 1 in 14 men in Australia have experienced violence from an intimate partner since the age of 15.

Often that violence begins with disrespect. We all deserve a world where families and relationships are safe and respectful, and people have everything they need to thrive.
