This is one of the first fitness pics I had taken after I became a PT. It seems like a lifetime ago now.
After great amount of thought I have decided to take a break and will no longer be working with Wildflower Fitness. It has been an amazing journey, watching clients achieve their fitness goals, bush road trips, workshops, public speaking, programming & coaching. It has also taught me some ins and outs of running a business. I set up and maintained my own website, managed social media, managed events and more. Some of the journey has also been very challenging. Losing funding I thought was secured, clients who donโ€™t follow anything and get upset when they donโ€™t get results (also upsets me as I really do care about health) & countless unpaid hours sitting in front of a computer screen planning & programming on my days off from my other job.
I am still hoping to do some public speaking in the future, but for now Iโ€™m going to concentrate on my own health, work, further study and my family.
The Instagram account with remain active as I really do enjoy health promotion, but Facebook and the website will be shutdown.

When you breathe with short, sharp, shallow breaths, and it is the upper part of your chest that moves, the SNS is well and truly activated. It is adrenaline that is powerfully driving this style of breathing. So, even if you are simply sitting around a boardroom table or driving your car to buy groceries, your body is getting the message that your life is literally in danger. Really contemplate that.

When you breathe deeply and move your diaphragm, you inhale and your lower abdomen expands, then you exhale and your tummy shrinks back in towards your spine. When you breathe in this way you communicate to every cell in your body that you are safe. The reason for this? If your life was truly in danger, you would never breathe this way. You need the short, sharp, shallow breaths, the ripple effect of adrenaline production as well as SNS activation, to help you escape from a genuine threat to your life.

In as many moments as you can remember throughout your day, aim to take long, slow breaths. While this might seem small, it is tiny choices like these that will help your body to take some of the weight off your invisible load, one breath at a time.

Starting is almost the hardest part. Itโ€™s that time of year when we are distracted with other things and can easily let ourselves go if health is not our priority. Practicing what I preach. Please eat before you exercise, thereโ€™s no evidence that fasting and then smashing yourself in the gym does anything except stress your endocrine system (not good for long term weight control, energy or anything else) and make you feel s**t.
