Do I offer extras?
If you’re talking about cupping, hot rocks, trigger point therapy, sound bath.. I do!
But yesterday, for the first time in twenty years, I was asked if I do sexual extras from a client who’s been to my home for massages several times with my children and partner in the house.
It is never ok to ask a health professional this question. Never. Not only am I angry I was asked this question, but I’m angry for the women I know who get asked this question often. I’ve had this conversation with a local Thai massage clinic and although they have signs throughout their clinic clearly stating they do not offer sexual services, they still get asked regularly. How is this ok?
I bring up this topic to open up conversation. It’s not something I want on my feed but I feel it needs talking about.
Would love to know how you feel about this topic. Other therapists, have you been asked this question?
