Motherhood is filled with moments that matter, the first latch, the late-night feeds, the quiet victories. At ABA, we know how crucial support is during these precious, and sometimes challenging times.

Just as mothers treasure each precious drop for their baby’s nourishment, we cherish every gift that helps families to thrive.

We’re calling on our incredible community to help us raise $40,000, because your generosity ensures no mother navigates her breastfeeding journey alone.

Today might be miserable outside but we’ve heard that the weather will be sunny on Wednesday, so we are hoping to hold our first Lismore Walk & Talk at 9.30am.

Bring your babies and toddlers in slings or strollers for a walk in Nesbitt Park, South Lismore. Take this opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy some fresh air and the company of other mums.

Meet near the Casino St carpark. Look for the ABA sign.
Remember your hats, snacks and drinking water.

Counselling is not available at our Walk & Talk sessions but there will be some resources available to answer your questions and concerns about breastfeeding. You can call the 24/7 Breastfeeding Helpline anytime on 1800 686 268.

In case of wet weather, any change of plans will be posted on the ABA Lismore Group page. Follow our Lismore Group page so that you don't miss any notifications https://www.facebook.com/aba.lismore/

Fingers crossed we’ll see you there!

Are any of your family or friends preparing for breastfeeding?

We are taking registrations for our Saturday, 31 May Breastfeeding Education Class in Lismore.

See https://www.breastfeeding.asn.au/event/breastfeeding-education-class-lismore-0

Classes are for parents who want to learn about breastfeeding whether expecting their first or any subsequent baby.

Learning about breastfeeding before the baby is born makes getting started a little easier as parents have information about how breastfeeding works and what to expect in the early days and weeks.

Participants learn about how to position and attach their baby and the signs which tell them their baby is getting enough milk.

Classes also cover troubleshooting strategies for managing sore ni***es, engorgement and supply issues.

Participants gain knowledge and the confidence to know when breastfeeding is going well and when and where to seek help if needed.

As part of the ABA family you know that breastfeeding can have some challenges. Help your friends and family prepare for breastfeeding by encouraging them to join our next Breastfeeding Education Class. If Lismore dates are not suitable there are weekly live webinars which they could join. See https://www.breastfeeding.asn.au/products/workshops

Please encourage your family and friends to register. Tell them what’s great about being part of the ABA family.
