This x10 week Beginner course introduces the basic principles and foundations of Iyengar yoga in a structured and safe environment. Experience for yourself the benefits of a regular yoga practice can bring to your overall wellbeing.

RIMYI 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

TODAY THE CELEBRATIONS CONTINUED

It was lovely hearing from some of the first generation of students sharing their experience and encounters with Guruji.

At the 'Moot Court' Raya's played an interrogative role to ask Abijata questions about Iyengar yoga which was great.

At the end Abi thanked everyone who had volunteered many hours of their time to make the year long RIMYI 50 happen.

RIMYI 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

FRIDAY NIGHT

The celebrations last night were delightful and very colourful as presented by the children who attend Iyengar yoga classes in Mumbai and at RIMYI.

They both told the stories of the ancient sages (Rishis) in relation to the history of yoga, and included the story and asana of those sages whose names are also asanas eg. Vastistasana

Afterwards Prashant talked us through the planning behind the building of the Institute until it's inauguration.

Alongside Prashantji, Abhijata and Raya have taught some fantastic sessions.

Their dedication to Guruji and Geetaji, and their passion for the subject of yoga has been joyful to receive.

LIGHT ON RIMYI
The Iyengar Yoga Institute was looking pretty last night. The building had been decorated in lights for the 50th birthday celebrations.

I also saw this beautiful quote from Geetaji 2018 on the back of someone's t-shirt.

"First there is lightness, then there comes light."

Already into week two of RIMYI's 50th Birthday celebrations...
It's so good to be a student in classes with several of RIMYI's teachers.

The Annual Day is on Saturday with celebrations taking place at the Institute - 50 Years since RIMYI opened.

I am feeling grateful to be able to back at the home of Iyengar yoga.
