Life was feeling a little crazy until recently. When I arrived back from 3+ months in New Zealand, I was overwhelmed with the mouldy mess that had taken over my shed & life possessions.
Arrrgghhhh 🤦‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙅‍♀️
Overwhelmed & not knowing where to begin, I just did.... I started.
It's been a 2.5 months journey of cleaning, sorting, culling, onselling, gifting on & reorganising EVERYTHING!
Then I painted - don't you just love the dark green forest look?!
On Fri I finally finished the job & moved everything back in 💪
I am so proud of myself and the perseverance, determination & dedication it took to complete this mammoth project. Rather than pushing beyond my body's limits to get the job done quickly, I paced myself & rested when needed. Holy heck Batman, does this mean I'm growing up?!! 🦹‍♂️🦹‍♀️🦹

What's next?
My new website!!
It's coming real soon xx

Earlier in the week I treated myself to an Astrology Transit Reading with Fiona Morris of 💫✨️🌟

Investments like these are a valuable and necessary aspect of my business management.

They help me to get clear about how to move forward with the work that I do, how best to plan ahead, and which areas I need to dedicate more energy and resources to.

They are always fun, insightful, and uplift my spirits to no end 💚✨️

Happy Mother's Day ⚘️

May the great spirit of the divine mother that held your essence and called you into this Earth, be with you today 💛✨️

May your day be filled with unconditional love, a safe place to be yourself, with people who see you completely, with warmth felt in your heart, nurturing arms to hold you, and many moments of lightness, play, laughter and giggles.

May you connect to your own inner mother and give yourself the gift of this also 💚✨️

You are such a gift to this world - so special , so wise, so brave 💜✨️

Treasure her/you today ✨️ 💖

🧚‍♀️ Have you ever seen a fairy garden in the wild? These mystical circles (aka mushroom circles) can appear on lawns, forests, grasslands, and rangelands.

While they look like something from a fairytale, their formation is quite scientific 👩‍🔬!

Here’s how they form:

🍄 A fungal spore grows into a mycelium, an underground network of threads.
🍄 The mycelium sends out hyphae (tubular threads).
🍄 The hyphae form a circular mat underground.
🍄 Mushrooms grow up from the mat, forming an above-ground circle!

Day 34 ōtautahi Christchurch... a hot tip from an old school friend led me to The Canterbury Museum pop up.

Wharenui Harikoa (House of Joy) is a crochet installation by artists Lissy & Rudi Robinson-Cole.

"This project is a tribute to our tūpuna (ancestors), a celebration of our culture, and a testament to the healing power of art."

“The wharenui [big house] embodies our vision of manifesting intergenerational healing and deeply felt joy."

“We aim to connect cultures, heal hearts, and spread joy – one loop, one stitch, one community at a time.”

Ōtautahi (Christchurch) meanderings ... back to some solo travels, which feels a little discombobulated, after spending 24/7 travelling with a friend for the past 9 days!

Yesterday I checked into my accommodation "Drifter" in the city, made some food & took a city stroll.

I found the Art Gallery, Art Centre, and the river, where there is a memorial to the Christchurch Earthquakes of 2011.

*apologies for not crediting all artists in the gallery pics 🙏 Some of the info was difficult to find on the central displays (ceramics & weavings).

Day 32 of the South Island, NZ (Te Waipounamu)... This is my last night travelling with my friend, Sue. We are in the gorgeous wee French village of Akaroa, on the Banks Peninsula of Canterbury. It is stunning and cute, and oh so chic 🇫🇷 🥐🥖🥂

I love it a lot!

Tomorrow I go in search of croissants. My expectations are high. I'm trying to reel that in a bit... I mean, what if they're supermarket croissants?! 🤷
Christ, I hope not 😁

Day 31 (2nd stop) Moeraki Boulders... gorgeous wee rock baubles on the beach. I love hugging rocks 🪨 (is that weird?). These ones are particularly round and very interesting in appearance. They remind me of large crystal geodes.

The sand and salt water of the South Pacific Ocean felt lovely under foot. The air was super foggy, which gave a mystical experience to the beach & bolder walk.

Day 31 Dunedin ... I really love Dunners. It's got a great feel/vibe and it's architecture is incredibly beautiful - very impressive!

25 years ago I came here to help my sister move back home after Uni. I'm not sure exactly how helpful I was to her, but we sure did manage to have some noisy fun together 😀

This is me

Hi, I am Fiona.

I am the creator, the teacher, the eternal seeker and the medicine woman behind Blessed Botanicals Apothecary.

My love of the herbs and flowers began as a small child, growing up in New Zealand. I just loved to be outdoors, exploring and adventuring, barefoot, hands in the dirt – and FREE !

I am a qualified Western Herbal Medicine Practitioner and Remedial Massage Therapist. My journey into this wonderful and rich natural world began formally twenty years ago at the Australasian College of Natural Therapies (Sydney) and the Australian Institute of Applied Science (Brisbane). But the knowings began long, long ago… perhaps lifetimes ago… I feel and sense the wisdom of my Celtic, Viking and French ancestry strongly and long to visit these lands to deepen my connection to my ancestral roots and herbal lore.
