We are pleased to welcome Heba from Western Sydney University, who is completing her placement with us at Speech Workshop.
Heba shared: “Heba: I am excited for the opportunity to learn so much along the way — from building my confidence in play-based interactions, to developing stronger clinical reasoning when setting goals, and refining how I communicate with both clients and families. I am looking forward to growing not only my skills as a speechie, but also my ability to adapt, connect, and support clients in ways that are meaningful for them.

Celebrating Aleksandra’s one-year anniversary at Speech Workshop! She’s been a wonderful therapist, and her work continues to earn well-deserved praise 🤍

Here is what Aleks had to say about her time at Speech Workshop 🎤

✨5 things I learned:

In my role at speech workshop, I gained valuable experience in:
- using a combination of evidence-based methods to target articulation errors
- ⁠collaborating with other health professional’s such as OT’s as well as school teachers to deliver optimal client care.
- the varied forms of sensory regulation - from sand play to people play!
- teaching phonics/literacy via structured programs like sounds-write
- ⁠the diverse role speech pathologists undertake in adolescent therapy e.g. targeting community skills.

✨Favourite memory:
Spreading holiday cheer in our clinic, by decorating rooms, dressing up, and handing out goodies to clients!

✨My plan for next year:
To continue to gain experience and refine my skills as a developing clinician, as I enter my fourth year of study and gain more independence.
