*Did you know?*
That if you are hypertensive and you are not taking your blood pressure (BP) medications regularly, you are at risk of any of the following:
*1. Stroke and Heart Attack:* High blood pressure puts extra strain on your heart and blood vessels, increasing the risk of cardiovascular events.
*2. Heart Failure:* Over time, the heart may weaken or enlarge due to the continuous high workload, potentially leading to heart failure.
*3. Kidney Damage:* Uncontrolled BP can damage the blood vessels in the kidneys, possibly leading to chronic kidney disease or kidney failure.
*4. Vision Loss:* High BP can damage the tiny blood vessels in the eyes, leading to hypertensive retinopathy or even blindness.
*5. Cognitive Issues:* There is evidence linking long-term high BP to memory problems and a higher risk of dementia.
*6. Sudden Hypertensive Crisis:* Skipping doses may lead to a dangerous spike in blood pressure, known as a hypertensive crisis, which can be life-threatening.
*Consistency with BP medication is critical to prevent these complications.*
*Take BP medications and stay alive.*
