It’s National Eye Health Week! 👁
National Eye Health Week is all about raising awareness of how important it is to look after your eyes, not just for clear vision, but for your overall health and quality of life.
Why is it so important?
Many eye conditions, like cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, can develop slowly without noticeable symptoms. Regular eye checks mean we can spot changes early, when treatment is most effective. Your eyes can also reveal signs of wider health issues, such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
Taking care of your eyes is simple, and small steps go a long way:
👓 Book your regular eye test (even if you think your vision is fine)
🕶 Protect your eyes from UV rays with good sunglasses
🥦 Fuel your eyes with a diet rich in leafy greens, colourful fruit & omega-3s
💧 Give your eyes a break from screens with the 20-20-20 rule
This week, we’re reminding our patients that healthy eyes lead to a brighter future. Your vision matters, and we’re here to help you protect it every step of the way. Prevention is always better than cure !
