Be “In Harmony” with your health through learning the flowing mindful movements of Qigong (pronounced: chee gong) & meditation. Combined with gentle breathing, these easy to learn standing postures support & strengthen the body in returning to it’s natural balanced state of health (of yin/yang). This practice provides many benefits to your mind, body & spirit including a sense of calm as you learn to let go & flow.
Qi (or chi) is the life force energy that runs through everything, whilst Gong means practice. Qigong has been part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for over 5,000 years. Through the regular practice of allowing Qi to flow throughout the body without blockages (which cause illness & disease), Qigong helps to maintain your natural healthy & harmonious state, reducing stress & anxiety, detoxing, restoring energy & strengthening your physical body. The movements help you to connect with your body’s wisdom as you start to tune in & feel.
Run by Melanie Bean, who first discovered Qigong whilst recovering from her diagnosis of Breast Cancer in 2016, she has undergone practice with Lisa McEvoy and Practitioner Training from Qigong Master Simon Blow. After briefly trying Tai Chi, Melanie found that Qigong was a better fit being based on the peaceful healing practices of TCM, rather than martial arts.

Unlike yoga, there is no need to stretch/flex your body into uncomfortable postures but rather gently lengthen and feel into your own level of ability increasing slowly, softly & smoothly.
